Babysitting

"You sure you will be okay?" Natasha asks her sister.

"Of course, they are half asleep anyways, go out on that date." Yelena says

"Okay." Natasha says "Goodnight my babies, me and your dad will be home later." She kissed Sarah and James their heads and walked out of the house.

"So what do you two wanna do?" Yelena asks

"Cartoons!" They both say

"Okay." Yelena asks and took them to the couch. She turned on the tv and Sarah laid against Yelena.

After a while Yelena saw them both half sleeping, she carefully picked up Sarah and took her upstairs. She put her in bed and went back downstairs to get James. She came back into their room and put James in bed.

"Yelena could you tell us a bedtime story?" Sarah asks

"Of course." Yelena says "When I was young my parents didn't tell me a bedtime story, but my dad and I had this song which we both knew."

"Could you sing it for us?" James asks

"Sure." Yelena says

"A long, long time ago
I can still remember how that music
Used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while"

"But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
Something touched me deep inside
The day the music died"

Yelena ran her hand through Sarah her hairs, she saw the two yawn.

"So, bye-bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die"

Yelena saw the kids sleeping peacefully, she got up and flicked on the light.

"Goodnight" She whispers and walked downstairs.

She fell on the couch and grabbed her phone, after a while she drifted off to sleep.

"Sssh, Steve look." Natasha says and pointed at Yelena passed out on the couch.

Natasha grabbed a blanket and put it over her sister.

"Goodnight Yelena." She says and kissed head before leaving upstairs.

Yelena woke up, she rubbed her eyes and sat up.

"I smell pancakes." She says

"Good, you're not dead." Natasha says

Yelena sat down at the table.

"How did it go?" Natasha asks

"It went great, we watched cartoons and I sang for them." Yelena says

"Which song?" Natasha asks

"Miss American Pie." Yelena says and gave Natasha a smile.

"The song dad always sang to you." Natasha says

"They fell asleep after one minute." Yelena says

"It always worked for you." Natasha says

"Yelena!" Sarah says and hugged her.

"Hey there, want some pancakes?" Yelena says

"Yes!" Sarah says and sat beside Yelena at the table.
