chae-rin wasn't sure why she was still here. why she was still present on this earth.
but then she looked up.
the stars above were a mesmerising polar-white colour. in a way, chae-rin was like a single star in the universe. one among millions. no one would notice if she faded away. if she were a star, she would be one that never shimmered or sparkled. one that never got noticed, outshined by the other bigger, brighter stars.
but baek kang-hi did notice. she is, was, the type to prefer sober, plain, quieter things. nothing big, nothing fancy. her chance to appreciate the understated things in life was taken away, stolen.
and chae-rin wanted nothing more, than for her to experience that.
chae-rin smiled sadly.

the call was silent for a couple seconds. "hi-"
"hey-" they chorused. chae-rin felt a smile tug on her lips.
"sorry, you can go," jay laughed. god, his laugh was beautiful.
