6 - Wished to be Blind

The windows are closed, no light can enter
Enter the temple of my own tranquility
Tranquility from chaos, discord of the outside
Outside my mind, when eyes are wide
Wide open to harm, sin and corruption
Corruption of the soul, destruction of the mind

Mind's eye at work, its clockwork creaking slowly
Slowly, gently, its gears giving out a low groan
Groan in the darkness, when colours suddenly burst
Burst of light, full of life and wonder spreading
Spreading around my world, painting midnight blues
Blues all around, up in the heavens and under the sea
Sea of mystery - hidden knowledge touching gold
Gold rays across the blue expanse forging life
Life from its fiery touch, viridescence all around
Around the centre of it all, the core, my inner eyes

Eyes, I wish for mine to be closed, be blind
Blind to the outside, so I may stay inside.
