Once again in the morning, Meredith woke up feeling nauseous as hell. She frowned and clutched her stomach. The kids had a one day, 24 hour stomach bug.
As a big wave of nausea came, she jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. She made it in time and began throwing up into the toilet.
Derek woke up to his wife gagging and rushed into the bathroom. "Oh, Mer." He breathed, kneeling down beside her.
Meredith threw up some more. Derek rubbed her back soothingly and held her hair up. "Derek." She groaned. "It's okay. You're okay." He said softly.
"This isn't the 24 hour bug the kids had, huh?" Derek asked, trying to lighten the mood. Meredith groaned and sank back into his arms.
"What other symptoms do you have?" Derek asked gently. "Nausea, obviously." She replied with a shaky breath.
"Your breasts hurt last night, didn't they?" Derek asked softly. He had a feeling what was going on with his wife.
Meredith nodded. "When was your last period, Mer?" He asked gently, rubbing her arms up and down soothingly.
Meredith froze. Could she be....no. She had a hostile uterus. There was no way.
Meredith did that math in her head. It had been at least 2 months. "I...it's been a while." She breathed in shock.
"Okay. Do you know how long?" Derek asked calmly, trying to keep the excitement out of his voice. "M-maybe 8 weeks? I don't...it's been so busy with you and DC and..." she trailed off.
"Okay. So I'll pick up a test, and we'll see. No need to worry now, okay?" Derek asked. "Okay." Meredith whispered as she slowly stood up.
Derek got Meredith settled back in to bed. "I'll run to the drug store. Hang tight. Zo and Bay shouldn't be up for a little while." Derek said, pressing a kiss to her forehead and leaving.
Derek drove quickly to the drug store and entered. He strolled through the aisles until he found the pregnancy tests. He grabbed a few, and picked up some crackers and sprite to help settle her stomach.
Derek walked up to the register and put his items on the counter. "Your wife maybe expecting?" A kind, old lady asked at the register.
"Maybe." Derek replied. "Would this be your first?" She asked, ringing up the crackers. "3rd. Her second pregnancy. We adopted our first." He explained.
"That's great. Your total is $23.50."
Derek paid and said his goodbyes before driving home.

He got back to the house and found Meredith laying in bed, just as she was before. "I bought three tests and some crackers and sprite to help settle your stomach." He said quietly.
Meredith smiled slightly as she got out of bed. "I'll take one now." She said softly. He nodded and handed her a box. Before going into the bathroom, she wrapped her arms tightly around his waist and hugged him.
Meredith let go and went into the bathroom. She quickly did her thing and then came back out. "5 minutes." She said, leaning in to her husband again.
"Hey, this is a good thing, right? If you're pregnant?" Derek asked as he held her in his arms. Meredith nodded after a moment. "There's nothing to be worried about." He said softly.
Soon enough, 5 minutes came and it was time. Derek picked it up and a huge smile graced his face. "You're pregnant." He said with a grin.
"I...wow." Meredith breathed, her eyes welling. "We're having another baby, Mer." Derek said, kissing her deeply.
"I...wow." Meredith repeated. "This is a good thing, Mer. Remember we talked about it?" Derek asked happily. "Zo and Bay are gonna have another sibling." Meredith whispered, putting her hand on her stomach.
"They are." Derek agreed, covering her small hand with his larger one.

Meredith and Derek soon got the kids up after, still shocked and excited at their recent news.
"Are you feeling okay?" Derek asked quietly as he cooked breakfast for everyone. "Yeah. If this is like Baileys pregnancy, morning sickness isn't going to be too bad hopefully." She replied as she made herself a cup of non caffeinated tea.
"Good. Do you want to make an appointment for tomorrow since we have the day off today?" Derek asked. "Sure. Connie, if she's available." Meredith replied.
"Okay." Derek said, kissing her softly.
"Mommy?" Zola asked. "Yes baby?" She replied as she sat down next to her daughter at the table. "You were sick, right?"
"I was." Meredith said cautiously. "Did you throwed up this mornin? I heared you." She asked. "Yeah, I did Zo." She replied.
"Are you still sicky like me and Bay was?" Zola asked. Meredith exchanged a glance with Derek before looking back at her.
"Yeah." She lied. It was too early to tell them about the baby. And with her hostile uterus...anything could happen and she wasn't about to put her kids through that pain.
"Oh. I sorry mommy." Zola said. "Thanks Zo." Meredith replied with a smile.

The rest of they day, they took the kids to the park, went out for a lunch/dinner, got some ice cream, and then came home. Meredith and Derek both loved having day offs because they got to spend time with the kids.
"Okay. You guys ready for bed?" Meredith asked as she carried a sleepy Bailey and Derek carried a sleepy Zola.
Meredith put Bailey down in his crib and kissed his forehead gently before leaving and meeting Derek in the hall. "I can't believe we're gonna have another one." Meredith breathed as she sat down on to the couch.
"It's amazing. I just...when?" Derek asked. "Could've been after my first neuro surgery....or when Richard said I could switch to neuro....or on my birthday...or-" Meredith started.
"Okay, we've had sex a lot. How about we just sat in the past month or two?" Derek asked in amusement.
"Okay." She agreed, snuggling in to him. "Okay." Derek echoed, his hand on her still flat belly.
