Derek woke up to his door shutting. He was a light sleeper. But who would be opening the door at 7:30 in the morning.
"Zo?" Derek asked quietly. "It's just me. Zo came in my room and wanted to see if Kiley wanted to play. I'll take her and Bailey downstairs. Go back to sleep." Kathleen said, popping her head in the room before shutting it again.
"What's going on?" Meredith asked sleepily. "Nothing. Go back to sleep." Derek replied, wrapping his arms around her.
"Kids?" She questioned, pressing her face into his chest. "My sisters have them." He answered. "Wait. So we're alone?" Meredith asked eagerly, her head popping up.
"Yeah." Derek laughed. "I've been waiting to jump you. These hormones are crazy." Meredith breathed, laying on top of him and pressing her lips to his passionately.
"You want to?" Derek asked, surprised. Earlier, she was insistent on not having sex in his mothers house. "Derek, you remember how my hormones were when I was pregnant with Bailey. Now shut up and kiss me." Meredith replied.

Derek walked downstairs about two hours later and walked into the kitchen. His sisters were all looking at him with smirks on their faces, as was his mother.
"Have a good morning?" Lizzie asked knowingly. "I did." Derek replied calmly, trying to withhold a smile. "Good. We couldn't tell with all the 'oh my god Meredith!'" Kathleen snickered.
Dereks face turned red and he looked at his feet. "Yeah, good think she's already pregnant." Nancy grinned. "Okay girls, stop teasing your brother." Carolyn injected as Meredith walked into the kitchen.
"Have a good morning, Mer?" Lizzie asked. Meredith immediately turned red and turned her face into Derek's chest.
"Stop teasing them." Carolyn ordered as she handed Meredith a cup of tea and Derek coffee. "Where are the kids?" Meredith asked.
"Zola is with the girls and Bailey is right over here." Carolyn answered. Meredith nodded and walked over to the high chair where Bailey was sitting in. "So, I need all the help I can get today with cooking. Meredith, the the guys handle the kids while the woman cook. It's just easier that's way. Can you cook?" Carolyn explained, watching as the woman lifted up Bailey.
"Ha." Derek snorted. "If by cook you mean boil water then sure, but other than that, no." Meredith answered.
"Maybe you can make the mashed potato's then. Nancy can teach you, she's been making them since she was 12." Carolyn said. "Okay." She shrugged in response.
A few hours later, the cooking was in full swing. Derek took Bailey and Zola into the living room with the other guys and kids, while Meredith was in the kitchen with the woman.
"So Meredith, what did you usually do for thanksgiving before you met Derek?" Lizzie asked, trying to make small talk.
"Nothing really." Meredith answered as she peeled potatoes. "Nothing? Didn't celebrate it with anyone?" Nancy asked, surprised. "I didn't really have anyone to celebrate it with." She admitted.
"But that's in the past, and it's fine now." Meredith added. The other women got the hint to stop talking about it and changed subjects.
A while into cooking, Meredith's back started to hurt from standing, and Carolyn noticed immediately. "Meredith, why don't you go take a break, dear, and come back in a little while?" She suggested.
"Oh, it's okay. I can keep helping." Meredith replied. "It's okAy, Meredith. Your back is clearly bothering you. Go rest for a bit. We'll call you when we need you okay?"
"Okay. Sorry." Meredith sighed as she put her hand on her lower back. "Don't be." The older woman answered, watching as Meredith gingerly made her way out of the kitchen.
"Derek told you not to pry into her past." Carolyn said once Meredith left the room. "It was a simple question. A valid question." Nancy defended herself. "I know, but she's obviously uncomfortable with it. And you missy, owe her an apology. That girl is your brothers wife, the mother of his children, your sister in law, and not to mention she's pregnant with your brothers child. You need to treat her with respect." Carolyn chided.
"Sorry." Nancy mumbled.

At about 5pm, the thanksgiving feast was ready to be eaten. Carolyn called everyone in. They settled the little kids at the kids table, which Zola was seated at, and then settled themselves at the adult table.
Carolyn said Grace and then everyone dug in. Meredith held bailey on her lap while feeding him and feeding herself.
Thanskgiving for Meredith in the past usually consisted of Tequila and pizza, so this was a change for Meredith. Even after years of being with Derek, she still wasn't used to the turkey and all.
"Next Thanksgiving we'll have another baby." Derek whispered into her ear. "Yes we will." She giggled as she grabbed his hand "I'm grateful for you." He whispered.
"I'm grateful for you too." She replied, kissing him quickly.

After dinner and a few hours later, the kids were all asleep, and the adults were in the living room, all curled up with one another.
Meredith was half asleep, slumped on Derek. "Well, I wanted to tell everyone before some people fall asleep that this was a fantasist thanksgiving. I love having everyone back in this house under this roof at one time. I'm thankful for you all and I love you." Carolyn announced with a smile.
Murmurs of agreement rang out, but all stopped when they heard a loud snore. Derek looked to his wife, who was out cold next to him.
Derek knew with how exhausting pregnancy was, let alone the number of calories she consumed, she must be very tired.
"Get rhat girl into a bed." Carolyn ordered. "Will do." Derek replied. "Mer." He whispered into her ear. Meredith slowly opened her eyes and groaned. "Let's go upstairs." He said.
"Cant. Food coma." She whispered, closing her eyes once again. "Okay." Derek laughed. He lifted her up gently into his arms and began going upstairs. "I'm gonna turn in too. Goodnight guys." He said.
Derek got her upstairs and helped her into her pajamas before joining her in the bed. "I love you." He whispered. "I love you too." She replied.
