Derek woke up on their day off, Meredith's back pressed into his chest. His hand was resting comfortably around her waist, resting on her bump.

Meredith had a long day at work yesterday, and with seeing her father as well, he knew she was stressed out and definitely needed this day off.

He kissed the back of her head softly before rolling out of bed slowly, replacing himself with a pillow when he heard bailey crying.

Derek opened the door to his sons room and saw the boy standing up unsteadily, holding on to the rungs of his crib for support.

"Hey, buddy. You're up early." Derek grinned, lifting his son out of the crib. "Da." Bailey babbled, curling into his chest.

"Want to help Dada make mama some breakfast?" Derek asked rhetorically as he carried him down the stairs and into the kitchen.

Derek placed bailey into a high chair and secured him In. "What about a banana and some milk, huh? Sound good?" Derek asked, grabbing a banana.

He cut it up into small pieces before placing it on the tray in front of Bailey and pouring him a bottle of milk.

As Bailey ate, Derek got to work on Meredith's favorite breakfast, which was currently a fried egg on an English muffin with a ton of cheese. And with ketchup, of course.

"Hey. I found someone looking for you." Meredith said with a yawn as Zola walked alongside her. "Hey, princess!" Derek exclaimed, swooping the little girl into his arms as he took a step back from the stove.

"Daddy!" Zola giggled as he set her down. "Hey." He said softly to his wife as he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her gently.

"Sofia is coming over today." Meredith reminded him. "Sofia!" Zola yelled excitedly. "Okay." Derek replied with a nod  as he watched her and Zola sit down at the table.

"Here." Derek said, placing a plate in front of Meredith and then a fixing a bowl of cereal for Zola. "Zo, what do you and Sofia want to do today?" Derek asked.

"We go fishin'?" Zola asked hopefully. Meredith smiled. Zola was the only 3 year old little girl the two parents knew that wanted to willingly go fishing.

"Sure." Derek grinned. Derek had only taken her a few times, and he wasn't sure how Zola liked it. This made him think she did like it, though.

"You are definitely your fathers daughter." Meredith commented, kissing the top of Zolas head. "And Bailey is his mothers son. It's perfect." Derek replied.

"It is." She agreed softly. "

A few hours later, Callie and Arizona dropped Sofia off and now Derek, Meredith, and the kids were all on their way to the lake. Meredith had bailey strapped into a carrier against her chest while the other kid ran ahead.

"Sofia, have you ever been fishing?" Derek asked, although he already knew as they got to the dock. "No." The little girl responded.

Derek smiled. "Well, you ready to learn?" He asked enthusiastically. "Yes!" Sofia exclaimed.

Meredith took a seat in a nearby chair and watched as Derek knelt down to the girls level and helped with their fishing poles.

"Daddy's gonna take you fishing one day when you're big enough. Yup, he is. And you may like it or hate it. But I can't get you out of it. Daddy talked about this before you were even in my belly. And then when you were actually in my belly so you're on your own for that." Meredith cooed to her little boy.

"Da?" Bailey said randomly. "Yeah. Your daddy." Meredith grinned, running her hand over the soft blonde hair of her son.

Meredith was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard cheers from the girls. "Nice job, Sofia!" Derek exclaimed, swooping her into His arms as he held the line which had a fish on it.

Meredith smiled sadly. She knew that Derek had a tough time coming to the realization that Sofia would grow up without a father. And that his brother was going to miss out on his baby girls life.

Derek made a promise to himself that while he wouldn't ever try to replace mark, that he would always be there for Sofia when she needed him.

"Smile, you guys." Meredith announced, standing up and walking closer. Derek managed to lift up Zola as well and they all smiled. "Say fish!" Derek exclaimed.

Later that evening, they all went home. Meredith put Bailey down for his nap, and Zola and Sofia were in the play room, playing with a mini surgeon kit Alex got Zola.

"The girls had fun today." Meredith said with a groan as the two of them sat down on the couch. "They did. You okay?" Derek asked, noticing her grimace.

"Sore. This baby is taking up more and more room everyday." Meredith chuckled. "Good. He's getting big and strong." Derek grinned, leaning over and kissing her ever growing stomach.

"Yeah, but mamas back and feet are suffering because of it." Meredith teased. "Want me to rub them?" Derek offered. "My back?" She asked.

"Sure." Derek replied as Meredith arranged herself to be in between his legs. He began kneeding his thumbs into her back and she sighed in contentment.

"Anytime you need a massage for whatever, you know you can always ask. I mean, this is partially my fault, you know." Derek smirked.

"I think I'll take you up on that. I'm only gonna get bigger." She sighed.

"The bigger the better." Derek grinned dirtily. "I also agree with that." Meredith smirked, kissing him softly.
