The next day seemed to be even worse. Lisa and Chaeyoung were still ignoring Jennie and Jisoo, and refusing to sit with them at lunch. Nayeon stopped talking to Jisoo and Jennie, because she wanted to stay out of their fight. Jennie was sore from sleeping on the couch all night long, and was grouchy because of it. Jisoo wasn't feeling any friendlier. She had gotten little sleep last night because she had to redo her worksheet.

Jisoo and Jennie were more mad at each other than ever before. They were also mad at Chaeyoung and Lisa, but they both blamed the other for Lisa and Chaeyoung ignoring them, which didn't bring them any closer to getting along.

For their biology class that day, the students went to the swamp that was nearby. They had been told in their last biology lesson that they would be going to the swamp today, but it completely escaped both Jennie and Jisoo's mind.

Jennie had worn the only dry clothes she had, which happened to be a pretty blue dress. One that she didn't want to ruin from a swamp. It was one of her favorite dresses. Jennie glared at Jisoo, mad at her for dumping water all over her clothes. She couldn't describe how badly she wanted to push Jisoo into the murky swamp water.

"Ok class" The professor said. "We're here today to collect samples of the plants that we have been studying in class. I would like everyone to get into groups of four to five. With your group, you will collect all of the plants on this list. You will find all of them in this swamp." The students immediately all scrambled to get into groups for the assignment.

Both Jisoo and Jennie just stood there, unsure who to join in a group. Everyone else got into a group with their roommates, since most roommates were friends, and it fit the group limit. This left Chaeyoung and Lisa partnerless. The professor noticed that Jisoo, Jennie, Chaeyoung, and Lisa still hadn't gotten into a group.

"You four, make a group" The professor said to Jisoo, Jennie, Chaeyoung, and Lisa. Lisa and Chaeyoung side-eyed each other, nonverbally communicating the same thing. They didn't want to partner with Jennie and Jisoo, who were still exchanging dirty looks with each other.

They knew it wouldn't be any use arguing with the professor. And there wasn't any way to have someone swap groups with them. Reluctantly, they walked over to Jisoo and Jennie.

"You two better not fight. We have actual classwork to do" Chaeyoung said, glaring at Jennie and Jisoo. Jennie rolled her eyes.

"How are your new roommates?" Jennie asked sarcastically. Chaeyoung rolled her eyes.

" They act like their age," Chaeyoung said.

"Can we focus? I want to get started on the assignment" Lisa said. "We need to get the list from the professor" Lisa pointed to the professor, who was handing out a list of the plants they needed to collect.

"I'll get it," Chaeyoung said, and turned around to get a list. Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo just stood in awkward silence as they waited for Chaeyoung to return with the list.

"Got it," Chaeyoung said, walking up to the three girls. "This looks pretty easy, I've seen the majority of these plants before." Chaeyoung started walking into the swamp, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa following her.

Every so often, Chaeyoung would spot a plant on the list and gently pick it up. Since the other three had little-to-no knowledge on any of the plants, they let Chaeyoung do most of the work.

It was relatively quiet between the four of them as they walked through the swamp. Chaeyoung and Lisa would occasionally share some comments, or talk about gossip that was happening at the school recently. But for the most part, they were silent.

After about forty minutes, they had collected all of the plants except one. They had been looking for it for the last ten minutes, to no avail. They all felt like they were starting to walk in circles trying to find it.

"Are we sure it grows here?" Lisa asked, getting impatient.

"That's what the professor said," Chaeyoung said, glancing at the plants that were around them.

"Jennie probably scared it away," Jisoo muttered under her breath. Unfortunately for her, Jennie heard her remark.

"Or maybe they left because they heard you were coming," Jennie said. "Like everyone else. That must be why you don't have any friends"

Jisoo stopped walking and glared at Jennie.

"I have friends!" Jisoo yelled a little too loudly. Jennie also stopped walking, and turned to face Jisoo with a smirk.

"Trees don't count," Jennie said in a mocking tone. Jisoo clenched.

"I have actual people friends" Jisoo said through clenched teeth, her fist shaking by her side. It was taking all of her self control to not do anything she would regret later.

"Those poor people. It must be hard to be friends with-" before Jennie could finish her sentence, Jisoo's self control broke. She shoved Jennie as hard as she could, causing Jennie to lose her balance and fall into the dirty swamp water. Jennie quickly stood back up, and glared at Jisoo.

"What the heck is wrong with you?" Jennie demanded. She walked up to Jisoo with the intention of shoving her back.

"What's wrong with me? Have you seen yourself?" Jisoo snapped. Jennie was about to shove Jisoo when she was interrupted.

"For the love of God, will you two stop it! I'm done with this stupid fight, especially since its over something so childish!" Chaeyoung said, crossing her arms in front of her chest. Jennie and Jisoo turned their heads to look at Chaeyoung, remembering that they weren't alone.

"I'm not the one who's throwing insults left and right," Jisoo said, rolling her eyes.

"Don't act like you haven't insulted anyone" Jennie snapped, glaring at Jisoo

"Not nearly as much as you have," Jisoo said, returning Jennie's glare.

"At least-" Jennie didn't get to finish her sentence before being interrupted by Lisa.

"Jennie, watch out!" Lisa exclaimed. Jennie turned to face Lisa, confused at her sudden remark. Jennie felt a sudden shiver go down her spine. She turned around to see a giant creature standing behind her. It didn't look like anything she had ever seen before. It looked like a giant yellow snake with long arms that reached the ground. Whatever it was, it did not look friendly.

The creature raised its hand, and swiftly lowered it in a swatting motion at Jennie. Right before it was about to hit her, Lisa ran up to Jennie and pushed her out of the way. Jennie fell back into the water, while Lisa got hit by whatever the creature was. The impact caused Lisa to drop into the water with a loud splash.

"Lisa!" Jennie cried out, and ran back to the place where Lisa had just fallen. Lisa still hadn't come back out.

Jennie fell onto her knees, and used her hands to search for Lisa since she couldn't see anything through the water. She quickly came across Lisa in the bottom of the shallow water. Jennie pulled her above the water as quickly as she could. Lisa's body was limp, and her eyes were shut. She had been knocked unconscious.
