𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧

aj walked in his father's store going behind the counter unlocking the register. aj worked at his father's store with his two older siblings, ty and li. aj clocked in switching on light switches and other things that needed to be turned on going to unlock the door.

"aj daddy said put stickers on that box of candy" li his older sister told him

"mmcht ight" he huffed untangling his earphones plugging them into his iphone 6

one thing he hated most about working here was restock it took all day and was boring. li took care of the register and ty stocked up the canned goods. the bell rung meaning somebody opened the door.

"hey mr.jordan" li greeted one of her fathers friends

"hey li wassup aj, ty" aj sent a head nod mr. jordan's way and continued on with his business

"li lemme get a pack of black and some papers" li scrunched her face up grabbing what he asked for ringing him up

once aj was finished labeling and pit up all the candy he went back behind the register with li who was occupied by her phone smiling. aj glanced over seeing she was talking to her friends, he couldn't really stand them besides one the rest were always loud and talking about different niggas but tatiana the only one he semi-liked was quiet and was nice to him. not saying the others were rude to him but just genuinely she was a kind person but she still acted exactly like her other friends just slightly more innocent looking.

"wassup aj" bugs his bestfriend walked in the store dapping him up

"wassup bug what's the move today?"

"courts at three?" bugs asked him

"fasho" aj nodded his head

tionne or bugs was called bugs after his teeth he had two buck teeth like bugs bunny but was getting braces to fix the problem. since elementary it was always bugs and aj the two peas in a pod they met in second grade and had been friends every since now they're entering their seventh grade year together.

"ohh i'm going" li said

"no the fuck you not" aj frowned looking at his sister

"i am plus daddy not gone let y'all go by yourself and i'm meeting someone up there anyways"

"who? better not be no nigga i'll beat the shit outta you and him" aj mugged

"and imma jump in" bugs said making aj smile and dap him up

"first of all y'all not my daddy, secondly who the big sister oh ight"

"mmcht ain't nobody tryna hear that shit li i'm older than all three you lil niggas"

"wanna cookie or sum?"

"on god don't nobody care nigga" aj laughed

"watch y'all mouths all that damn cussing!" their dad alijah senior shouted

"pops you just wanted to yell" ty said

"shut up boy, bug how your moms doing?"

"she good"

"y'all straight you need anything?"

"no sir we good thank you though"

since they could remember all they had was each other. aj and bugs were more than they were brothers cut from different cloths but sharing similar experiences. bugs lost his dad to incarceration and aj lost his mom to underlying heart conditions. while incarcerated bugs father was stabbed to death by his cellmate over a little dispute being that bugs was the oldest out of his two younger siblings he had to step up and be the man of the house.

once alijah found out he promised bugs' mother to take care of them and every since he's kept his word. bugs' family never went without if aj had so did bug. alijah did it out the kindness of his heart and because bugs' father nigel was his bestfriend, they met in middle school when nigel moved from nigeria to michigan and they clicked instantly.

the two became inseparable since nigel came from a wealthier family than alijah did nigel made sure he was good and taken care of. there were many nights were alijah stayed with nigel because his mother was strung out on crack and bringing different men into their home. as repayment for all nigel did for alijah growing up he promised to take care of his moms and kids and that he did.

"you know to holla at me if you ever need anything. ty lock up tonight" alijah said

"i know"

"ight"

btw this is all in 3rd person pov and it's a short story that follows the adolescence of aj and bugs this is 15 chaps long.
