"smile for the picture boy" alijah gritted snapping pictures of aj, heaven, and bugs

aj mugged the camera throwing up the middle finger, heaven cheesed, and bugs threw up southside where they were from. alijah chuckled shaking his head it was the eighth grade dance and of course the three were going together. heaven was alijah's date and bugs was going with a girl tiara.

"ty you ready?"

"yea come on lil folks" ty said grabbing his keys

of course they were running late because they didn't to wait til ty was ready. in his words it was embarrassing to go to a party on time because the party starts when you arrive. aj opened the door letting heaven get in first then he slid in. bugs sat in the front turning on the radio freestyle by lil baby came on and bugs jumped up rapping with lil baby.

"SHOUTOUT MY LABEL THATS ME I'M IN THIS BITCH WIT AJ, I'M IN THIS BITCH HEAVEN. I JUST POURED UP ME A EIGHT" bugs yelled into ty's camera who was recording them laughing

"nigga give lil baby his song back" ty said trying to stop laughing

"mmcht i'm gang foreal baby know" bugs waved them off

the boys sat on the bleachers of their gym drinking their drinks. heaven and tiara were singing and dancing with a group of their mutual friends. no hands by waka flocka came on and all the eighth graders stood up. they had no business knowing about this song or it playing at their dance but they didn't care. heaven bent over against tiara shaking her butt while tiara hyped her up singing the song.

"yeahhhh heaven!!" a group surrounded them because by now almost every girl was twerking on someone or just doing it in the center

aj watched from a distance shaking his head laughing at the little white girls trying to fit in and twerk too. once he noticed there were boys trying to get behind heaven he stood up going over to grab her. aj tapped heaven shaking his head letting her know to get up.

"what?" heaven asked confused

"them niggas was tryna get behind you and your dress was rising up" aj said noticing the song change

dreams and nightmares by meek mill came on and he linked his arm around heaven and bug's shoulder. heaven started to sway as she started recording him.

"i used pray for times like this to rhyme like this so i had to grind like that to shine like this. in a matter of time i spent on some locked up shit, in the back of the paddy wagon cuffs locked on wrists. seen my dreams unfold, nightmares come true it was time to marry the game and i said 'yeah i do'" heaven started off

letting the rest of the kids in the gym fix the first verse aj cleared his throat hearing his part start up.

"hold on wait a minute y'all thought i was finished? when i brought that ashton martin y'all thought it was rented. flexing on these niggas i'm like popeye on his spinach. double m yeah that's my team, rozay the captain i'm lieutenant. i'm the type to count a million cash then grind like i'm broke. that lambo my new bitch she don't ride like my ghost. i'm riding round my city with my hand strapped on my toast. cause these niggas wants me dead and i gotta make it back home, cause my daddy need that bill money my sister need some new" aj sang changing up the lyrics to fit him

"shit i'm tired" heaven sat down still hearing aj and bugs rap in each other face

this is their favorite song and they knew all the lyrics and got aggressive when they sang it like they were in the studio when meek made it. heaven sat with her legs crossed drinking some of aj's gatorade. the dance started at 6:30 but they didn't get there til 7 and it was going on 8:15.

"heaven tristan wanna talk to you" tiara said smirking

tristan played football and basketball he was pretty tall like aj had blonde dyed locs and hazel brown eyes. tristan was cute and that meant he always had a girlfriend or two on him and all his relationships never lasted long  because of his problem with settling down, granted they were young but still.

"he's cute tell him come over here" heaven shrugged

"ahh shit okay hold on" tiara said walking away

"gimme my shit back nigga" aj snatched his bottle

"alijah don't start your bullshit" heaven rolled her eyes

"say it again" aj got in her face

"don- don't care nigga" aj cut her off mushing her head

"ouuu you shitty ass nigga get away from me" heaven pushed him

"chill gang chill" aj laughed putting his arm around her

"nahhh get off me"

"wassup heaven" tristan came over

"hey tristan" heaven said shyly making aj mug her

"wassup wit you and aj?" he asked sitting beside her

"oh nothing we just friends" heaven said

"bet then can i get your snap?" tristan asked taking his phone out

"yeah" heaven smiled grabbing it from his hands putting her username in adding herself

"text me" heaven said handing him his phone back

"fasho"

"ion like it" bugs said

"me either" aj said going back over to heaven
