-x- All Might's POV -x-

I sat in the chair, thoughts swimming through my mind. The boy had somehow fallen asleep after his words, leaving me alone to think.

Suddenly, though, Midoriya began to cough, blood spewing out of his mouth. His eyes squinted, as if they were adjusting to the light. As I drew a sharp breath, he winced, clearly out of it. Though-he was smiling.

"I did it," he croaked, blood seeping out of his smiling lips. He looked groggy, as if he could fall asleep at any moment.

I furrowed my brows, confused. "What did you do?"

His mouth opened, but before he could respond he began to violently shake, sending himself into another coughing fit.

"Hey, hey kid," I whispered softly, cringing at my concern. No-this is just another trap.

Just as I was about to speak, his eyes began to droop, and I did the only thing I could think of. Gripping onto his shoulders, I began to shake him lightly, hoping to jolt him awake.

Luckily, it wasn't too difficult, and his eyes widened, focusing on me. A chill ran down my spine, as if he was peering into my soul.

"All Might!" he choked, throwing his arms around my neck.

I pulled back, snarling. "What are you doing? Is this another one of your tricks?"

"No, please, I swear...," he pleaded, his eyes begging for forgiveness. I found myself staring into them, wishing I could believe him.

However, I only shook my head, and pushed myself away. "I know this is just another trap." I attempted to keep my voice steady, but it cracked with anger and... despair. "So you can go ahead and give it up now." I shot him a mean look.

He looked hurt, wincing at my comment. I watched as he looked down, clenching his blanket tightly.

"I'm sorry," his voice wavered, tears spilling out of his eyes. His eyes met mine, "I'm really, really sorry."

I found myself taken aback by his words, wanting to believe them. But he had already lied too much.

"You're... You're going too far now," I attempted to raise my voice, but my throat became dry, only allowing for a raspy whisper. "Knock it off."

He stared at me, his eyes piercing through my soul. "All Might," he said, reaching his hand out. Though, as if he had a second thought, he pulled it back slowly.

"I'm...," he sighed, seemingly frustrated. "I really didn't mean it. I know you probably can't forgive me," he stared into his hands, glancing back up at me, "But please... Know I really didn't mean it. For any of this to happen."

I couldn't help but frown. "Kid..." I then shook my head, correcting myself. "No-Midoriya. What are you talking about?"

"I...," he gulped, tears rolling down his cheeks, "I don't know. I was just... I was kidnapped by the League of Villains and then everything went bad and they poked needles and-"

"Slow down," I soothed, prodding for more of an answer.

He nodded. "I'm sorry, yeah...," he composed himself, "After they kidnapped me, I found myself in a strange bar. There were a bunch of people. And... They took me to a room. Where uh..." he struggled to remember, "There was a doctor, who injected me with some kind of drug..."

"What was it for?" I asked, invested.

Midoriya furrowed his brows. "All For One..." He looked up at me, his breath hitched. "He has a mind control quirk. But... It only works for short periods of time unless combined with the drug."

As he shivered, a thought crossed my mind. With a sudden movement, I shot up out of my chair, frightening the boy. "Bakugou. He was captured. What if they use the mind-control drug on him and-"

He shook his head, dismissing the idea. "No," he denied, "All For One said himself that it was difficult to make the drug-it took months for just a small dose."

"Then... Then why'd they use it on you?" I questioned.

"I don't know," he admitted, "They just wanted me to complete simple tasks, like gathering information and..." He paused, fresh tears forming. "Capturing Bakugou," he choked.

I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He blamed himself for what happened.

"Hey, kid, it's not your fault," I sympathized.

He brushed me off. "Yes-it is. But it doesn't matter," he stared at me with sudden conviction, "Now we need to save him."

I hesitated, tossing my thoughts of telling him back and forth. "Yes," I paused, wary, "We... We know where he is," I admitted.

His eyes sparkled. "Really? Please-let me come help!"

I shook my head. "No. Especially not in your condition. Coughing up blood everywhere." Sighing, I began to stand up. "Besides, nobody is really... trusting of you right now."

He looked down sadly, and my heart panged for him. "I'm sorry Midoriya. I'll do what I can."

"Can... Can you at least ask if the others will come. Please? I want to apologize," he requested, sniffling.

"I'll do what I can, Midoriya," I told him, vowing to at least adhere to that promise.

"Thank you," he whispered softly, lying down.

Having nothing else to say, I made my way over to the door, turning the door handle. With a glance back at him, I left the room, promising to myself that I would do whatever I could to help the broken boy.

OG NOTES:

Honestly, I'm not too fond of this chapter, and I even started it out in Midoriya's POV, but I thought it sounded better if in All Might's. Not so sure now, though.

Anyways, it's kinda too late for that, and I don't want to have to keep rewriting it, so here ya go!

Sorry it's kinda short, but I actually do want it to be in someone else's (probably Deku's) POV after this.

Welp

Thanks for reading! <3
