Mom and I got in line. Apparently she wanted something good to eat so now we're here standing in front of a food stan. We ordered and waited for our number to be called

Another pair ordered after us and waited beside us.

And they got their order first.

I glared at them

So now they're picking favorites!?

Mom smacked the back of my head telling me not to glare at anyone

We walked around the village stopping in front of taiyaki shop. Naruto greeted 'Sarada and Cho-Cho'.

Kawaki took a step back standing behind me and holding onto the hem of my shirt

Anxiety

After so many years of being locked up and isolated with no one to trust, it can be quite hard to communicate with 'humans'.

I'm starting to feel uneasy.

I don't like it.

It seems Naruto noticed and decided to break the uneasiness you were both feeling

"Go ahead and pick one, what flavor would you guys like"

"Didn't we just have breakfast?" Kawaki asked

"It's just a snack, it's fun!"

"How is ordering fun?"

"Well-"

"This shops specialty is the custard one"

Does she realize this conversation has nothing to do with her? Why did she butt in? It's none of her business. Maybe if I-

I slightly hit my head. 'Man, mom's attitude is rubbing off on me'

"I'll get the chocolate one" Kawaki said, ignoring what Sarada reccomended I look at the dog and then at the menu

"I'll have that one"

Naruto gave us what we ordered, Kawaki tried his first, I'm quite surprised at his reaction. But then again we haven't eaten anything this good.

I look at the dog and then look at my snack. I rip a piece out and hold it close to it's face

"Talk shit"

The dog tilted it's head to the side. "You know, growl, like this" I gave a slight growl. It growled back it me. "Good boy, now talk shit"

It growled again. I smirked "Your a fast learner, impressive" I hand him the snack and pet it's head.

"I can't believe your teaching that thing to talk shit" Kawaki said, taking another bite of his snack "What can I say? I love dogs" Kawaki rolled his eyes "Does it even have a name?"

"Of course it does! It's-uh..." I look at the dog trying to think of a good name, but nothing came to mind

(NO seriously I don't know a good name, HELP ME) 

"Y/n, Kawaki, let's go"

We followed Naruto, Cho-Cho had left, now Sarada was following us. What a pain

"I never had the chocolate one before" She said getting closer. "Hey Kawaki let her have a bite" "Why should I-"

I switched places with Kawaki. "You have pretty skin, I can't wait to wear it" She backed away. I wonder, was it fear? Or disgust?

"Don't be saying that stuff Y/n, your scaring her" Naruto warned. I look at the dog and point at Sarada

"Talk shit"

The dog growled and barked at Sarada. "Y/n-" "It's not me, it's the dog-"

I was cut off mid sentence when someone bumped into me Kawaki leaned back, his arm transforming

He lunged forward while I stood still eating the snack "What are you doing!? Y/n help me" I stayed quiet, ignoring what Naruto was saying

Kinda reminds me of how I had to be responsible for everyone's actions.

"What was that!?" Sarada yelled. Kawaki looked at the dog "Talk shit" he said pointing at Sarada. The dog growled and barked at her

"How could you treat kids like that!?" I stood in front of Kawaki giving Sarada a glare

"He was giving them a life lesson is all. YOU should be saying that to the ones who locked us up and tortured us for years."

"What..What do you mean?" I crossed my arms and scoffed "How can I expect someone who's been living a peaceful life to understand?"

We kept on walking "Don't you have any manners at all?" Naruto asked "Unfortunately we weren't raise properly" I slightly lower my head

"You of all people should understand that" Naruto looked at me "How so?"

"How so? Treated like an outcast ever since you were born, nothing but a troubled maker, and nothing but disrespect towards you and you only. They only starting 'respecting' you when you became hokage, no, when you started protecting them. Can't really call that respect now can you?"

...

"Go on pick a vase" Kawaki picked a simple vase, but it goes well with the room design

"I don't know what happened, but try to be more sincere about it!"

This was starting to piss me off. I grabbed her collar and pulled her back "This isn't any of your business four eyes, it's his choice not yours to make. Think before you speak. Besides that vase goes well with the room"

Mom's attitude really is rubbing off on me, it's not so bad, right?

The vase broke and Kawaki backed away

He's having a panic attack

I ran to him and held his shoulders

"Listen we're out of that place for good, we aren't going back there. They're not taking you there either. I'll kill them if they even lay a finger on you. I'll be there to protect you. Forever"

Kawaki grabbed on to my shirt burying his face on my neck before falling on his knees. I wrapped my arms around him, making him know I was with him

Naruto walked towards us "Stay back! Stay back or I'll kill you-!" My eyes widened when Naruto wrapped his arms around us

"There's no need to be afraid anymore. From now on your safe"
