Enide Pendragon was not like her half-brother, the prince Arthur, future king of Camelot. She was a daughter, an illegitimate one at that; she had nothing to offer her kingdom. She was born a girl, if she had been a boy she could have been valuable; a soldier, a squire who knows? Instead she was born a daughter.
