Chapter 9

Pagbalik ko galing basement ay may oras pa bago ang napagkasunduang oras. I used to to finalize my plan to clear it pero pwedeng mabago pa ito depende sa bilang ng sasama. Nang matapos ay bumalik na ako sa main lobby.

I immediately saw kuya Zander na katabi na si James. Kumaway siya sa akin kaya nilapitan ko. "I only managed to gather 9 people. Natatakot sumama 'yung iba lalo na 'yung ibang hindi pa nakakaharap sa zombies. Nadinig kasi nila 'yung mga kwento nung mga bagaong dating tungkol sa mutated zombie." Napapakamot siya sa ulo.

Tumango ako. Tiningnan ko ang mga kasama niya. Some of them are familiar. Mga kasama ko rin ata sila dito. None of them are people that arrived with captain. "It's fine. Mahihirapan lang tayo kung hindi buo ang loob ng sasama."

Tiningnan ko naman ang mga kasama ni James. "There's only three of us. Medyo busy kasi 'yung iba." Nag-iwas siya ng tingin pagkasabi noon. I get a feeling na ayaw lang talaga sumama ng iba but i dismissed it. Three is enough especially they are armed and have experience.

Nagsimula muna kaming magpakilala. Some of them already know each other so it is only for formality. So there is a total of 14 of us. Luckily, sarado ang pinto ng basement papalabas. There is only a couple of zombies and no mutated.

"Here is the plan. There are 12 rooms in the basement. Pumunta na ako doon kanina. There are some people trapped inside." I actually know it dahil kay Geoffrey from my last life. Nakakulong sila sa isang room sa basement with some food supplies. Madali din malaman dahil sa labas ng pinto ng room kung nasaan sila ay may ilang zombies na nag-aabang, attracted to their scent.

"There are a few zombies outside their door, so be careful not to use guns because it will attract them. Since 15 tayo, we will be divided by three. I'll lead one team, the other one will be kuya Zander, and the other one is James."

"Shouldn't the teams be led by us?" Tanong nang isang kasama ni James na parte ng security team. Tumango ang isa.

Tiningnan ko sila. "The three of you will be part of each team but only James will lead. You van leave if you don't want to." Sabi ko.

Nakita kong inismiran ako nito pero hindi na nagkumento nang tiningnan siya ni James. If i remember correctly, he is Ismael while the other one is Jeremy.

Itinuloy ko na ang pagpapaliwanag. "The main door is already close kaya kapag naclear natin 'to, wala nang zombie sa basement. There is no mutated zombie kaya ayos lang."

"What is mutated zombie?" Tanong ni James.

"Hmm, they are evolved zombies. Madali lang malaman kasi iba ang itsura nila. They are dangerous dahil bukod sa mas malakas sila, some of them have intelligence."

Nagkatinginan ang tatlo. "Sir, baka 'yung abnormal zombie sa itaas ang tinutuloy niya na pinatay ni captain." Sabi no Jeremy. Hmm, so that explains it kung bakit hindi ako ang unang nakapatay ng mutated zombie. Captain is really skilled. Kailangan ko siyang kausapin mamaya tungkol doon.

"Let's continue."

Simple lang ang structure ng basement 4 rooms each side at 4 sa gitna. Bali parang o-shape ang daan sa basement. May deck na nakapalibot na nagsisilbing second floor. Doon ang team ni kuya Zander. After clearing it ay susunod sa amin ang tatlo habang ang dalawa naman ay lookout.

My team will go to the left while James's team will take the right. Katulad sa last strategy, isasara muna ang mga pinto habang kini-clear ang area. Kapag natapos na iyon ay iisa-isahin naman ang rooms para masiguradong walang makakalusot.

I prohibited them using the guns unless necessary. Baka magsitakbuhan paibaba ang mga zombies sa upper floors kapag nadinig ang gunshots.

We proceeded to the plan. Sinilip ko ang pinto. Nang masiguradong walang zombie ay sinenyasan ko sila na tinanguan naman nial.
