In Confines of the Central core the Master Mind's fiery eyes are set on a man who bows upon him to report a failed mission and as the man cringes in fear about the target getting away his master's dream to become immortal is endangered.
" You have failed me yet again and I am growing weary of your failures" The mastermind said in an irritated way
" My apologies master,we had him and we were about to elliminate him but then this woman showed up and saved him" he said with a shaking voice
" I don't need your excuses you imbicile, I know who that woman is and I saw what he did to Miles my question is why did you let them get away" asked the mastermind as he stares coldly in the man' s eyes
Before the man can answer he suddenly fell down the floor lifeless and as the mastermind walks away he throws away the implant he grabbed from the back of man's head
" I do not tolerate failure, and I expect you will comeback to me with good news, is that right Ghost ?" he asked one of his operatives as he sends him on a mission
The operative Ghost nods and leaves without saying anything as he proceeds to find and eliminate Kid once and for all.
Meanwhile back in liberdade alexandra tells the story of how things went down on the day Kid was rescued in the council meeting
" On our way to the hotel we are being tailed by a blue car since the 15th street and as they came closer we noticed from the rear view mirror they are pointing guns at us and before long they are firing at us already, we are being shot at heavily and at this point I started to fire back at them the battle was intense bullets flew through the air and luckily one of mine hit their driver and because of that they lost control of their car and they went thumbling over after the thumble their car caught fire fast and then explodes without warning then they went out in flames , we got away and when we arrived at the scene I saw Kid running to the alley being chased by a man wearing a long trench coat so Immediately got out of the car and went after them that is when I saw the man pull out a gun and point it at Kid so I pulled out my gun and shot him twice and he fell down and I noticed the man was an amateur and it was the first time he was doing a job for the mastermind I can tell because he was so sloppy he even has the safety still on in his gun as he is about to shoot when I unmasked him Kid recognized him"
"So he was working for the mastermind all along?" Kid asked confused of what he discovered
"Well when I checked him after I took off his mask I was able to find his ID and found that his name is Daniel Spellman and the name he used to get a job in the factory is fabricated further records indicate that he is Computer programmer and that is why he does not know how to use guns properly and he was assigned to observe you and report back to the mastermind if you remember anything" she said
"Every person you know was set up so the mastermind can observe you ,yes they are all spies from his fortress we call the Central Core and when I found out about you and the potential of you possessing the information that could free us all they ordered a hit on me to silence me fortunately a week before they were supposed to kill me Darius brought me here to disable my implant and became member of the rebellion only known as The League after that I went back to work like nothing happenned and the rest is history" alexandra said to Kid
"Just who is this mastermind guy?" asked Kid
"At this moment no records exist of his identity and as long as I have studied his work and digged through known records of him ever existing I am always met with a dead end, they say he is a very intelligent man and is probably the one who created the grid but besisdes that I got nothing else on him, the central core is a different atory however" agatha answered
" so what do we know so far about the central core anything new? " asked Kent
"Well as of late we have determined its location to be somewhere in the northern part of the grid, the entrance to it is on a highly secured technology facility the one that that produces all the tech all of us use in a daily basis , and that is also the way he keeps tabs on us where ever we go.Yes they also made the implant on your head" said Agatha
"wait that location you mentioned its on district 19 and you are referring to Alpha genesis tech lab" Kid said with surprise in his eyes
" yup thats the one alright so somewhere inside the facility is the mastermind's lair and we also believe somewhere in that facility hides the kill switch" Agatha confirms.
" So that's why the facility has always been there for as long as I can rember and the more weird part is that I never heard of anyone getting hired to work in there because most of us who got hired are sent to their factories to insure production of their products" Kid realized
"Like we always say here nothing in the grid is as it seems even the sunlight and the stars in the night are not real but a holographic projection" agatha added
" Now I know how much of a lie all this is, we really must find the kill switch so we can be free and finally experience real sunlight,smell real air and taste real food " Kid said
"but the food is real Kid they get it from the outside but they make it seem they grow it in here" agatha said
" So there really is an outside world well then we better get busy and find that switch so we can be free" Kid said
" You must learn to fight first kid because were not gonna always be there to save you" said kent who sees hope looking at kid
" I am not the fighting kind Kent and I will not use my hands to kill anyone " Kid said with conviction
Back in the central core The mastermind looks at the blueprint of the alpha genesis lab and was wondering about a spot where the old testing facility is because in the past few weeks new activity has been detected in there eventhough its condemned and no one uses it any more.
"There is something in the old testing facility get in there and find what causes the activity recently detected" The mastermind commands his henchmen
and as the crew searches far and wide checking every corners and leaving nothing unturned they found nothing until they stumble upon a concealed control panel which requires a code to open something.
"Master we found a control panel in the room which requires a code to reveal what's in that room and unfortunately no one of us know it"the head crew member reports
"Could it be the one I have been looking for for a long time? this is good news and this will secure my dominance and longevity I want that place heavily guarded and I will figure out that code and destroy what ever it is inside once and for all hahahahaha" laughs the mastermind who has sinister plans ahead
and as the mastermind plots terrible things for the grid. Kid is training himself in martial arts and basic shooting and as the days pass by he gains more expertise and becomes better vowing he will not uae hia skills to kill but only to protect himself and his peers.
" Now. I can build some weapons I can use" says Kid who started right away in building his weapons
over the course of a month and with the use of the tech available he was able to make weapons like a gun that shoots paralyzing bullets a retractable pole as meelee weapon and a mini crossbow which shoots smoke bombs and tranqualizer arrows to neutralize the enemy
"We need to plan on how to get into the tech lab but we need to be careful as recent report indicates the place is swarming with guards and infiltrating the place will not be easy" Kid said
"Well don't worry about infiltration we already have someone inside and he tells us the old testing facility is now heavily guarded " Kent said assuring Kid in the process
"If that is the case then there is nothing to worry about then so lets go ahead and find the switch" Kid said
"We need more time because besides the guards that fortress has a ton of security cameras not to mention the traps laid out with in" said agatha who studied a copy of the blueprint of the central core.
The battle is about to begin and the quest to find the kill switch begins.The fate of all that resides within the grid is on the line and is about to change forever.
