"I was a little nervous to come, today." Sage explained, placing her phone down and taking a sip of the iced coffee she had just ordered. Placing it back down on the table in front of her, she looked back up at the brunette with a small smile on her face. Nalani gave her a confused look, in return, and Sage just shrugged her shoulders.
The two girls had picked up almost immediately, after arriving at the restaurant. It was something Sage hoped would happen, but after all of the years without seeing each other, rekindling our friendship was something she didn't really think was possible.
Sage was playing with the paper sleeve that the straws come in, ripping it into small sections and rolling those up into small balls. It was out of anxiety, a habit she had picked up from her mother when she was little. She never really realized she was doing it, until now. The brunette sobered up, straightening in her seat when she realized she was slouching, and collected the small pile of anxiety-ridden paper, putting it on her already-empty plate.
