Chapter 23: Sardonia's Second Princess

After the General Conference, the entire palace focused more on the Engagement Ceremony. Habang si Levi ay abala rin sa kaniyang mga trabaho sa palasyo. The main topic of Zarcaiah's and Sardonia's High Society right now is the future Crown Princess of Zarcaiah. Only selected aristocrats was able to attend Prince Levi's birthday last time, kaya bilang lamang sa kamay ang nakakita kay Serene sa mga panahong iyon. 

Bukod pa roon ay hindi nanatali si Serene sa ballroom noong kasagsagan ng kaarawan ni Levi. Almost half of her time during the banquet was spent with Vester and Perry outside the garden that time. Dahil dito ay mas lalong naintriga ang lahat sa paparating na Engagement Ceremony.

But despite the anticipation, there are also people who's ready to criticize the Second Princess. Bukod pa roon ay nagsisimula nang kumalat ang iba't ibang spekulasyon patungkol sa Second Princess ng Sardonia. Baseless rumors, wrong accusations and unsupported assumptions spread around the whole Kingdom.

Tulad na lamang sa nangyayari ngayon...

"The Engagement Ceremony of the Crown Prince is tomorrow. Lady Savannah, are you all right?"

Savannah Laylanie de Fraser. The only daughter of Duke Fraser and the Flower of the High Society. The most honorable woman among the ladies of the High Society and was also a candidate to be the Crown Prince's fiancee. She's also one of Levi's admirer.

Currently, they are having a tea party hosted by Lady Savannah herself. The honorable daughters of the nobles attended the party and their topic... None other than the Engagement Ceremony and the Second Princess of Sardonia.

"I am fine. I'm just curious about the Second Princess. We haven't seen her yet. I think it'll be an honor to invite her to the next tea party," Mahinahong sagot ni Savannah sabay patong ng tasa ng kaniyang tea sa saucer nito.

"Well, you have a point, My Lady," Sagot ni Lady Annabelle, the second lady of Gibson Countdom.

"But even Princess Peressia doesn't attend that much in tea parties and salons of ladies in the High Society. Sa tingin niyo ba ay dadalo ang fiancee ng Crown Prince?" Lady Claudia of House Reese asked.

"She must. Even though she's a Princess of a neighboring kingdom, one of her duties is to interact with us, Zarcaiah's citizen. Isa pa, hindi ba't gawain ng isang asawa ang dumalo sa mga ganitong okasyon?" Lady Paulina of House Rose bluntly asked.

Muling itinaas ni Savannah ang hawak na tasa palapit sa kaniyang bibig at palihim na ngumiti. 

Serenity Everleigh Christenson. Sardonia's Second Princess and the Crown Prince's chosen fiancee. Hah... Just how much is her worth to stand beside Prince Levirence? I should be the one standing beside him. 

I've been raised and trained to be His Highness' prospective royal consort aside from being the High Society's honorable lady and he chose other woman instead? Isn't this ridiculous?

"That's right. But if you'd ask me, Lady Savannah should've been chosen as the future Crown Princess. And I heard she was confined inside their palace back in Sardonia? I heard she was neglected by her own family that's why she's an outcast." Lady Claudia asked again.

"Yes. There are also rumors circulating that she's not that beautiful. Kaya marahil ikinahihiya siya ng Royal Family ng Sardonia. They said her etiquette was poor as well. Maybe that's why she doesn't come out to join other ladies and events like this. How is that even possible knowing that she's from Sardonia, right? I guess she's a total disaster." May halong pangungutya ang boses ni Lady Annabelle habang sinasabi ang mga iyon.
