Chapter 37: Failed Attempt

Levi stared at the trembling Lady Savannah while his legs and hands are crossed, sitting comfortably on the long couch. Kahit si Ezra na tahimik lamang sa single sofa sa bandang kaliwa ni Levi habang sumisimsim sa kaniyang tea ay hindi na sinubukan pang magsalita. Saglit siyang napasulyap kay Levi.

It's been a long time since I've seen that terrifying coldness on my eldest brother's face. Ever since he and sister-in-law became close, I thought that expression has been long forgotten. But now that I've got to see it again, I think he was just suppressing it inside for sister-in-law's sake. Natahimik ng ilang segundo si Savannah bago muling makakuha ng tapang upang i-angat ang tingin kay Levi.

"T-The thing is... Kilalang-kilala mo ang babaeng inampon ng Grand Duke, Your Highness."

"Who?"

"I-It was Marcela Russell. Your lover before Her Highness."

Halos sabay na nanlaki ang mga mata nina Ezra at Levi sa narinig. Particularly, Ezra. Upon hearing the woman's name made his heart throb in pain.
