It is when nature from green turns to gold,

Summer has gone away, the days shorten,

Coming would be winter, bitter and cold,

And the ground would with ice and snow glisten.

Now's harvest time, to nature beholden,

Plump apples and pumpkins ripe do collect,

Gather the fresh greens, bring in corn golden,

Warm days and cool nights, it is time perfect.

Nature painted in orange and yellow,

Plant your crocuses, pansies and snow peas,

Brighter moon nights, it's a season mellow,

Skies of migratory birds and fat bees.

Autumn is when you let go of it all,

Time to say goodbye, it's season of fall.
