Blue is colour of the sky, wide and free,
But freedom to her is what's not given;
Watching the birds fly, envious is she,
Bound by rules, to desperation driven.
Blue is the ocean vast, endless and deep,
Buried deeper are secrets, big and small;
Seas whisper and roar, silence she must keep,
Come what may, never must she speak at all.
Blue is the dark night, by glowing stars lit,
Burn with the fire of her forgotten dreams,
In quiet hours she mourns the times she quit,
The moonlight swallowing her silent screams.
Many are the contrary shades of blue,
Sorrow's her only familiar hue.
