S02E01 “Consequences: Part 1”
INT. VAN - MORNING
Lindsay Weir sits on the backseat. She’s uncomfortable.
Kim Kelly sits next to her, on Lindsay’s left.
JOHN (20’s), the owner of the van, also Kim Kelly’s friend, sits on the right of Lindsay. John is a loser, and the stereotypical hippie.
John smokes a blunt, then passes it over Lindsay to Kim.
Kim inhales, and coughs. She tries to hand it to Lindsay, but Lindsay just stares at her unknowingly.
KIM
(coughing)
Come on, Linds. Take a hit.
Lindsay becomes more uncomfortable.
JOHN
Yeah, Linds. Smoke some. All it is, is mother
nature right here in my van, man.
John smiles goofy, while he nods his head.
KIM
Forget it. She won’t do it.
Kim lifts the blunt to her lips. Lindsay twists Kim’s wrist and shoves the blunt to her own lips.
Title Sequence
INT. WEIR KITCHEN - MORNING
Lindsay sits in a chair. She’s upset. Harold and Jean stand on the opposite side of the table. Harold’s arms are on hips. Jean folds her arms across her chest.
JEAN
I just don’t understand why you’d run from that summit.
It was a great opportunity for you.
Lindsay tries to defend herself, but her father cuts her off.
HAROLD
You know what I don’t understand? Why you’d run off with that Kim Kelly girl in the first place.
We warned you she was trouble. She probably got you into that Marijuana crap.
LINDSAY
But dad—
HAROLD
You know this boy in our high school got into drugs
and got stuck busing at a coffee shop, then you know what happened?
LINDSAY
He died. Yeah, I know.
Harold gives Lindsay a disapproving look.
JEAN
He did die.
Harold turns to Jean and gives her a disapproving look.
HAROLD
Well yeah he did, by a car… walking home from his less than minimum wage job.
Sam Weir walks into the kitchen. He looks at his parents and points back towards the living room.
SAM
The people from the Summit want to talk to you.
Harold and Jean walk out, upset.
Lindsay gets off the chair, and grabs her jacket. She storms out the door. Sam follows.
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - MORNING
Lindsay walks down the hallway. Millie Kentner stands at her locker. She looks up to see Lindsay. She does the sign of the cross.
Lindsay rolls her eyes and walks past Millie.
