Why Do You Write
sometimes, the words flow
like a fountain. other times,
i have to choke the life from
my fingertips just to jumble
a few words onto the keyboard.
nevertheless, i write. and write.
and write. i continue to write.
not because it is all that i know.
no. i write because i want to
leave behind a legacy long after
these words inside my head have
faded from deterioration and
that silent, eternal sleep.
