Chapter 14: The Appointed Day

Jackie's POV

Pagkatapos na pagkatapos na sinabi ni Fred ang mga panalangin niya ay nakita kong unti unting gumalaw ang mga kamay ni Sunny.

"Baby! Mommy and daddy are here anak.
Can you hear us babe?" I softly said.

And then she finally opened her eyes.

"Hi baby! Hi Sunny ko"
Sabi ng daddy niya. Lumabas naman ako para tawagin ang doktor.

The doctor checked her and she is now breathing on her own. Pwede na daw siyang ilipat sa private room. What a relief. Sobrang saya namin. God is so good!

"Dok? Ano po ba talaga ang nangyari sa anak namin?" Tanong ko dito

"Well in most cases kapag wala namang continuous cough, it is most definitely from allergies from inhaling pollens or dust. Her nasal airways are also clear. Based on my findings, she had a chest congestion or tightness on her chest that is why she finds it hard to breathe. No signs from any heart problems because the cause here is in the lungs. Usually pag bata yan the lungs are still growing and so Sunny should avoid extreme movements in causing her sudden restlessness and attacks. In layman's term it is asthma attack but since three years old pa lang siya we cannot fully diagnose her. But thank God she is conscious and breathing right now."

"Thank you so much doc"

"Sige ilipat na natin siya sa private room"

Niyakap ko ng mahigpit si Fred.

"Palangga she is ok now"

"Thank you Lord"
he whispered as he returned the embrace

We are now crying happy tears kahit sina mommy, daddy at mga kaibigan namin sa labas ay natuwa din sa nakita nila.

"Jamie hali ka!" Tinawag ko ito

"Oh gising na si Sunny oh! Smile ka na diyan wag ka na malungkot" ngumiti naman ito

"Hi Sunny! Pgaling ka muna diyan ah? Wag na muna tayo maglaro"

"Pwede naman kayo maglaro pag gumaling na siya kaso yung mga hindi magalaw na laro lang muna Jamie ah?"

"Yes po kuya"

Hindi ko kakayanin kapag may mangyaring masama pa kay Sunny. Kahit sinong magulang naman siguro. I am happy that she is awake and healing and that alam na namin ang mga precautions na gagawin ni Fred.

After 8 Months

Fred and Dad told me about their plan. Ate Faye kept calling me too and nag a update din. In all honesty? Natatakot ako. Pero mas gusto kong makalaya na si mommy Farah.

Malaki na rin ang tiyan ko. Mas mabigat ngayon si baby at mas mahirap dalhin kasi parang lagi akong hinihingal. Syempre lumaki din ako. Malapit na akong manganak at saka ko lang na realize na baka mag sabay sabay lahat ang mga pangyayari wag naman sana.

Lumalaki na rin si Sunny -one of my source of daily happiness and strength. Kapag nandiyan lang siya, ok na ok na talaga ako. She and this little one in my belly are my prized possessions and legacy. We bond thru baking, singing our favorite songs and making vlogs kahit hindi ko naman ina upload ito for some reasons. She always tells stories sa kapatid niya before we sleep. Pero gustong gusto niya na vini video siya. She is a natural talaga baka magiging newscaster tong anak ko sa sobrang daldal.
