Sans' room was a bit bare furniture-wise (only a simple twin bed and nightside cabinet were placed by the farthest wall), but all sorts of paper decorations were taped on the walls. Their contents varied; some posters for varying bands and shows and movies, some ad fliers, some train tickets, even some pristine pictures of him with his various family members. None of it had any obvious rhyme or rhythm but it was still a pleasant sight for Sero to soak his sight in.

What caught his eye most was the shelf lined up against one of the walls, several different bones scattered atop it. Sero's breath caught in his throat as he attempted not to gasp in exaggerated horror-- it's not like they were covered in blood or anything.

"None of those are human," Sans sighed, catching Sero's gaze. "Every single one was foraged from wild animals who probably died of natural causes."

"Probably?" Sero noted before letting himself sit on Sans' rumpled sheets. The white-haired boy nodded and approached the shelf.

"Well, it's not like I was there with each animal as they, y'know..." he drew his thumb across his throat as respectfully as possible.

"And you collect them why? Not judging or anything." Sero added the last part quickly and nervously so it was obvious that he was judging. There wasn't much that Sans could do about it so he opted to answer honestly.

"My quirk is called Bone Bending. I can control the bone marrow and control it, even if the bone belongs to somethin' living."

Realization seemed to fall over Sero's face and he glanced back to the shelf. "So those are for practice?"

"Sorta..."

"Sorta? It sounds cool, can I see?"

"No," Sans immediately responded, his body going rigid. Sero was not a stupid boy so he dropped that idea without any whines.

"Okay, well..." he began fiddling with a piece of tape he had produced. "I'm assuming you don't go to a hero school then?"

"I decided a long time ago I wouldn't become a hero. Or a quirk user." He flinched. "That makes me sound weird. It's a personal thing, nothin' against heroes or nothin'."

Sero watched his soulmate shuffle awkwardly, totally oblivious to the affectionate gaze he held. "That's good then-- since you're looking at a future pro and all."

Sans hesitated before locking eyes with Sero. "For real? You serious?"

"Yup! You're looking at one of UA's hero course top students!"

"You? Top student?"

"Hey, why is that the unbelievable part?!"

Time froze for the briefest of moments as Sans let out a genuine giggle, an odd sight not suit for a boy constantly plagued by past regrets and future unknowns.

"Nothing, nothing," he convinced through his laughter. "Pros make plenty of money, right? Does that mean I can be your trophy husband and stay home and do nothin'. Now that sounds like a dream."

"You may be my soulmate but you aren't mine-- but if you wish to be a trophy husband then a trophy husband you will be." Sero bowed with exaggeration and felt pride swell in his chest as Sans chuckled at the action.

A sharp knock burst the bubble all too soon and Sero's vision of a new home life washed away.

"Brother! Dinner is ready! Let us eat!"

"Coming, Paps!" Sans grinned, a twinkle amidst the dark night, and beckoned his soulmate forward. "C'mon, let's meet the rest of the family."
