A Stark Witch

Summer p2

"I said I'm sorry" I followed the man through the busy street
"That doesn't matter Hailey. You have exposed the wizarding world to the whole world. Muggles have seen you using magic" Remus replied as we walked through Diagonal Alley
"We'll I'm sorry that I believed I had to help protect the planet from being destroyed" I threw my arms up
The man sighed and turned to me
"Hailey, I'm proud of you, truly I am. You saved the world and that's incredible. But sweetheart, you also showed your magic, and depending on how this meeting goes with the Minister for Magic you might have your magic stripped away" he said
"But I was in America" I said softly
I'm allowed to use magic in America, everyone over the age of 14 is.
"You we're in Sokovia, not America Hal. And now you might be in serious trouble" he sighed and began to walk again

I looked at my hands sadly and chased after him

"What will happen if he takes my magic?" I asked taking Remus' hand
"You'll be thrown out of the wizarding world, and you won't be allowed to do anything connected to the wizarding world either" he said with a sad face
"They- can they do that?" I asked worried
"I dont know pumpkin" he forced a smile

We finished our shopping and took a floo network to the ministry

I followed my uncle through the crowded halls passing witches and wizards and the odd creature. The ministry always had a dark and suppressing feel to it, one I could never shake off. But with the threat of my magic being taken from me looming overhead, I felt crushed

"Ready?" Remus asked me as we stood outside the office of the most important man in the country
"Let's just get it over with" I sighed wanting it done

Remus pushed open the door and stepped in
I followed after him, the office was lightly lit, and had shelves upon shelves of books and scrolls.
"Ah, Mr.Lupin, miss Black" the minister turned to us. "Please sit"
I cautiously sat down across from him but beside Remus
"Let's get straight to business shall we?" He asked also sitting down
I nodded terrified
"Miss Black, you have been reported to using magic outside of the United Kingdom. I am fully aware of the arrangements made with the American Ministry by your guardians, which allows you to move back and forth and that you are permitted to perform charms across the sea." He started out and I nodded in agreement of all he said
"But that does not excuse the fact that you performed high levels of advanced magic in Sokovia in the presence of muggles" he said.
I didn't know what to say, trying to think fast
"Sir, firstly it's an honour to meet you. And secondly, I would like to say that the only reason I used magic in Sokovia was because of Ultron, a highly advanced android, that wanted to destroy the entire planet including the wizarding world." I said in honesty to which he smiled with a nod
"And I had an excuse to perform such spells, I'm sure you are aware of my connection to Tony Stark and the Avengers. Well last spring I was accepted into the team, meaning I have global protection from the UN and all State governments that I along with the team can complete missions without any implications due to my abilities." I said
"Yes I am aware of that Miss Black, but you still exposed our world" he said
I looked at Remus. This was down to me, he can't defend me in this sadly
I sighed and turned back to the minister
"Actually minister I don't think I did. You've heard of the Avengers surely, they all have their own gifts and nobody thinks twice of how they got them. Muggles already have their own ideas of my powers, most say I got them from HYDRA, or was born with the magical capabilities. Others say the wand is purely to help me focus and direct my power. The tiny minority that have guessed my being a witch is slim to none. So I believe I haven't exposed anything of our world, and I would never intentionally aim to do so" I said

He stayed quiet for a bit

"Miss Black I will accept that, I will do some research into your case and try help you. I don't want to see such a young and bright witch stripped of her magic. But I must warn you that if you do endeavour in any more heroics to keep our world of the uttermost secret" he instructed and I nodded
