#14 - Lean on me

Day after day, they do their activities as usual, even now Win is quite proficient in flower arranging and understands the meaning of some flowers.. Of course that's because he always focuses on what he is doing, as well as Bright who always works day and night

After living with Bright for almost a month, Win learned a lot with him.. He learned how to do his own laundry, cook some easy meals and also clean the house.. They share the tasks with each other and they're pretty good at it

But lately, there's been a feeling of blockage in Win's mind.. Somehow he feels something is strange about Bright, but he himself also doubts

"Win, can you come here for a moment?" Sanan called him who was arranging flowers in front of her while daydreaming a little

"Yes, phi?"

"I just got a call for an offer for flower decorations at a new shop that will open in a week, can you help me survey the place tomorrow?"

"No problem, I'll do it" Win nodded

"Thanks Win, this is a note about what you need to make sure later there"

"Okay" he received the note and kept it in his apron pocket

Then when he was about to go back to the front, Sanan called him again.. He immediately turned back and saw her reaching for something from her pocket

"This is your first salary, congrats Win!" Sanan handed the envelope to Win

"Huh? Isn't payday next week?"

"Yep, but you've worked really well and it looks like you need some pocket money" she said

Win accepted the envelope and smiled proudly.. This is not the first time he has received a salary, but somehow he felt different when he received from his previous job

"Thank you, phi.." he thanked her with a big smile

Sanan nodded and patted his arm, "Go home quickly today and buy some tasty food for you and Bright, okay?"

He nodded happily, then he went to put the envelope and note in his bag in locker.. He went back to work and enthusiastically finished his work quickly

The sun has set and it's already 6 pm, it's time for Win to go home

But before going home, he stopped at the nearest supermarket to buy food ingredients that he could use to make delicious dishes at home

He chooses to cook it himself instead of buying food outside, he wants to surprise Bright with his cooking.. He bought a lot of ingredients and other household items, Bright has spent a lot of money on it and now he is happy because he can help both of them in the future

Due to the amount of groceries he bought, he finally decided to take a taxi just this once

When he got home, he immediately packed up his groceries and went to wash himself.. After that, he took his phone and went to the kitchen.. He was looking for a recipe that wasn't too difficult for him to make since he wasn't very good at it yet

But when he was looking through the menu, suddenly an incoming call from Bright appeared on his phone screen

"Hello.."

"H-Hello, is this Bright's friend?"

Win was confused, he looked at his phone screen then put it to his ear again.. It's not Bright's voice

"Yes, who is this? Why are you holding-"

"I'm his co-worker and I saw your name was on his last call that's why I called you.. A-Anyway, Bright suddenly fainted in the shop and now I'm taking him to the GMM Hospital.."

"What!? How!??"

"I don't know, it all happened suddenly.. Can you come here?"

"O-Okay I'll be right there! Thanks"

Win hung up the phone then immediately took his jacket and went to the hospital.. In a panic, he didn't even think about getting on the bus again, instead he found a taxi to get there faster

"What is your destination sir?"

"GMM Hospital.. I'm in a rush so please be a bit quicker" Win replied

"Roger, sir!"

The taxi was going fast, fortunately the road conditions were not so busy

Arriving at the hospital, he immediately asked the patient named Bright then the nurse directs him where.. When he saw the bed where Bright lay, he immediately ran

"Bright!"

"Err- are you Win?" asked a young man who was standing beside Bright's bed

"Yes, did you contact me earlier?" Win answered while catching his breath

"That's right, my name is Mike, nice to meet you" he replied while give his hand for a handshake

Win shook that hand and introduced himself too, "I'm Win and I live with him.. Anyway, what did the doctor say?"

"The doctor said Bright was just tired and it looks like he's missed his medicine a few times, so his old illness has relapsed a bit"

"What medicine?"

"Aww I thought you knew.."

Win shook his head in confusion

"Bright had a deep depression in the past, that's why he took drugs to stay sane.. It seems that because he was busy, he forgot to take his medicine or maybe he was thinking about something until he couldn't focus and it seems he didn't get enough sleep" Mike explains

Win knows the story of Bright's past only from Joss's story, he never told how the details of the past were.. He didn't expect that Bright was still taking the drugs until now, he thought Bright had recovered

"Err- since you're here, can you take care of him? I have to get back to the shop"

"Of course, thanks for the help, sorry to bother you" Win nodded

"No prob, he is my friend anyway.. Please take care of him" Mike smiled then excused himself.. He slowly disappeared from the door

Win pulled a chair close to the bed and sat looking at Bright's shabby looking face

He saw Bright's pale face with slightly black eye bags.. After looking closely, he realized that Bright had lost a little weight.. That's where he remembered why Bright had always eaten very little or not even finished lately

"You've been under stress all this time, haven't you?" Win whispered softly with worry

He held Bright's hand and stroked his forehead gently

Bright groaned a little, looks like he's not feeling comfortable, thought Win

Suddenly Bright's tears fell from the corners of his eyes while muttering softly, "I.. don't.. please.."

Seeing that, Win took the initiative to caress Bright's head and back of his hand while whispering reassuring words, "Bright, I'm here.. Calm down.. you're safe with me.."
