"I told you, this is a far as you'll get."
You heard the malicious intent behind that annoying voice. It used to be sweet, full of laughter, full of hope and desire. Now, however, all you heard was a newfound enemy.
You laughed as you felt the blood drip from you nose."I 'spose so.." You forced a reply.
He stopped in front of you, his large figure looming over. (I see you going into the comments, stop-) You squinted your eyes, almost trying to see if it truly was still him. You laughed for a moment, before silence once again filled the room.
"Is this funny?" He spoke in a sorrowful seeming tone.
"Almost." You spoke begrudgingly. "It's like I'm just another person in your way. I really thought I was something better to you. I suppose it comes with the territory of being a harbinger though, hm? Casting everyone you love aside? Killing them, even?"
He winced at your words, knowing you were right. You took notice to this, and sighed loud enough to recapture his attention.
"Just do it so you can move on. You know you have to, Ajax. Since you've already informed me about everyone else. You let me escape and you know what happens, correct?"
"I'm aware, yes."
"You didn't hesitate to beat me into the ground. Why hesitate now?"
He went silent. It's just what I thought he'd do, really. I made it seem like all I wanted to do was slap him, punch him, and just all around resent him.
"I wish we could have been together a while longer.." He spoke in a warm tone.
"Me too.."

It had been three years since that incident. Childe was sitting with Zhongli, dazing off into nothing and thinking about what he could have done differently.
"Alright, I'm going to head off now!"
Zhongli nodded at the ginger haired male, with a small smile and waved him goodbye. Going on a long walk, he began to imagine what could've happened if his line of work was much, much different.
"Oh my archons, Ajax.. Yes!"
"Thats exactly what you would've said", he spoke aloud to himself.
He had bought a ring about a year ago. He wasn't really sure why, but he thought it would be nice to have. He couldn't shake the feeling that, for some reason, you really weren't gone. No, that was just his wishful thinking. He watched it. He caused it. There was no way. Tartaglia drops to his knees, unable to keep himself together any longer. He knew it was his fault, and yet, even so, he found himself wishing..
"I wish I could've given us more time.."
He kept on, though. He kept on killing.

After a few more years, it had almost been like you never existed. No one in the whole region of Liyue had known where Childe had gone. Some presumed he finally met his match, and lost in the end. Others said he got tired of carrying out the Tsaritsa's duties, and fled from anything of the sort. And even more say he might have gotten a new opportunity, one even higher ranked than the eleventh harbinger. (I'm pretty sure that's right?-) In all truth, Childe had only requested to be relocated. Though every once in awhile he had heard the rumors of his supposed death whispering in the wind. He hadn't intended to fake it, however it worked out in the end. He decided it was better Liyue thought he was over and out of the way.
"After all," he spoke to himself, alone atop a mountain, basking in the freezing cold of his home. "The place you hold dear deserves to rest as well, my darling.."
At that moment, Ajax new. Knowing he was the cause of your death, he would never recover. But a least be felt like you forgave him.
In some sort of way.
