-chapter 3- made a new friend🤪

cameron's pov:

  i sat on the stairs, waiting for y/n to walk out of the building. it was 1:48. about 2 minutes later i see her walk out, she was looking around. i could tell she was trying to spot me, so i waved. she walked over to me.

y/n's pov:

  i said hello to cameron and we started to talk about a project that our science teacher gave us. it was practice for the science fair. we're in the same science period, and our teacher partnered us together. he said "want to come over and work on the project?" i nodded.

we started walking towards the parking lot, where his truck was parked. i usually ride home with padget, but i told her i wasnt today. she was okay with it. i got into the passenger seat and he started to drive. he had an early birthday, so he was 16 already and got his license before me.

i walked into his house and saw his little sister with his grandma on the couch. they were watching some sort of movie or show, i couldnt tell what it was though. he motioned for me to follow him into his room and i did. we talked for a little while and then decided to get started on the project. after about an hour or so of working on the science project, we decided we've done enough today. it was only 3:15, but he asked if i wanted to hang out for a bit and stay for dinner. he was nice, and was cool to hang out with and be around, so i said yes.

we talked about horses. that was something we had in common. we both loved horses. he told me he works with horses before school and gave lessons. i've never actually ridden a horse before but i've wanted to for so long. he said how he feeds them and that he cleans up their shit and grooms them, and it seemed pretty fun, other than the shit part. he told me he could get me a job there if i wanted to. of course i said yes. he also asked if i've ever ridden a horse. "no.. but i want to learn" i said. his eyes went wide and he laughed. "you love horses so much but you've never ridden one?" he ssid jokingly. "i can teach you, come with me."

we walked out to his car and it was about a ten minute drive. he said "this is it, come with me." i followed him and there were a bunch of stables and horses. he let one of the horses out, and it walked out calmly towards me. i held out my hand and let it sniff me. he said "thats gilly." i nodded. he said "alright so to get on the horse, you put your left foot here, your left hand here, and you use your right leg to help you push yourself up onto the horse." i nodded and easily did that. he said okay good now try to get down. i gave him a questioning look and said, "why, i just got on.." he said "i know, but you need to practice getting on and off.

while trying to get off, i almost fell off of gilly, but cameron quickly grabbed me and brought me down. we both laughed. his laugh was so cute. i quickly snapped out of my thoughts. 'you just met this kid, calm down'

he properly taught me how to get off of the horse, and i tried it. i didnt fall this time. he checked the time on his watch. "its already 5:15, we should get going", he said. we decided to go to chilis for dinner instead of having dinner at his house.
