We were walking inside the cave following the vines that had appeared magically on the ground while remaining careful about where we put our feet down
"Is it safe to leave the van behind?the one behind all this clearly has control over this entire forest and what has been happening"
"If they wanted to destroy it they would have done so a long time ago"I remarked
"For now we just keep on walking until we find the fucker behind all this and make them release us"Said Mordred
"Fear not,knight of treachery I am not your enemy"
Someone had suddenly spoken which made us raise our guard,it was only a hunch but I decided to ask
"Are you the person who brought us here?"I asked
"And how do you know who I am?"
"It is hard for someone such as me to not know heroic spirits such as you"said the voice
"Heh,what an honor"joked mordred
"Where are you taking us?your stomach?"
"Usually,when someone breaks out the curse of my forest I eat them and bury ruem under the soil to feed their remains to my plants right away,but given the spawn of one of the primordial gods is here"
"What?"we asked all at the same time
"Follow the trail,it will take you right to me"said the voice telling us about the trail we have been following
And so we continued onwards passing by old rusted vehicles that were broken down by the pressure of the dirt around them
"Well we know we should trust this person then,we still haven't been turned into compost yet"said rika
"You guys think she'll let us out?"I asked
"Who knows,we can beat it out of her If we need to"suggested Mordred
"Let's not say that while we're in the middle of a tunnel of dirt with little to no support other than seeming magic that's preventing it from collapsing on us"I said
We continued our way in a careful silence all the way as a few minutes in the small tunnel started to widen more and more until we arrived in a large area that was covered with leaves and it appeared to be on the surface,Rika then Elbowed me to get my attention to the center of the room

There was a woman with a dress made of leaves as the bottom part her her was buried in the dirt underneath her,she also had vines that Seemed connected to her.
She then spoke
"You're finally here"she said
"It seems so,is there a reason for bringing us here?"I asked her
"Yes,I have wanted to talk to the spawn of the primordial goddess for a good while now,I had sensed your presence ever since she passed down her powers to you right before her unfortunate death"
"Who or what are you exactly?"I asked her
"I am a nature spirit,one of dozens,we watch over the world's ecosystem from mankind as well as making sure the primordial gods don't wake up to wreck havoc on the world"
"You keep saying primordial gods but you're not referring to the ones of the pantheon right?"asked Mordred
"No,those are divine gods,made from the human consciousness as the manifestation of beliefs,primordial gods or sometimes regarded to as titans are beings who preceded all known humans and we're born from the collapse of the old world"she said
I think I heard of that place, that's where heroic spirits come from as in where they were born when alive and not like they are now
"Anyways I'm here to talk to you,spawn of the watcher goddess,who kept records of all life past and present"she said
"Is this the reason for my powers?"i asked her
"Ho?please demonstrate"she asked me as I shapeshifted into a lion as I roared then into a cat and meowing and then into a tyrannosaurus and let out a giant roar again before going back to normal
"See?"
"These creatures must be from the old world,are they not?"she turned to Mordred as she asked that question
"Yeah, it's from our world I can confirm"
"What you knew!?"I asked her
"Well yeah I did, obviously"she responded shrugging her shoulders
"Why didn't you say anything?!"
"You never asked me"
I was going to say something but realized I had nothing I could say
"....Fair point"
"Anyways,it seems you have the power to carry out your duties as the new watcher god who along with the other ones will bring balance to the world,it is your destiny, everything led up to that moment"she said
"Yeah about that,no thanks,I don't want to get involved in this anymore more than I am,I only want to find my mother and clear my name"
This answer seemingly confused her
"...what?"
"Yeah,I never asked any of this,If I could return these powers to someone who can do this job I would,otherwise I don't care about anything else"I said
"But you can't do this!the entire world depends on you to save it, I'm sure one of your comrades can speak some sense to you"
She then turned to both of Rika and Mordred
"You two probably understand what I'm saying right?"she asked as if pleading
"I'm with him because I want to get more info on some people I'm following"
She turned to mordred
"I'm here to make sure he succeeds"she said
The spirit's face suddenly felt as if it lost all light on her face
"Are you really going to ignore it?all of the casualties that will happen because of this? completely shattering the already broken balance?"she asked
"I'm just a kid, I'm not the spawn of a god,all I want is to find my mother and make sure we can live happily after this, that's all"
"Yes... you're right"she said as suddenly the van appeared out of the dirt and the leaves cleared out to show us an exit
"You may leave,I should have realized it was foolish to expect so many things from a child"she said
I nodded as I made my way back in the van with Mordred following me
Rika 3rd PoV
As the van appeared Rika turned around to follow them ,but as she did she could lightly hear the spirit's shaking voice,it had a mix of sadness,despair and denial and a sentence that sent Rika into her deep thoughts not before the van's engine starting resonated
'i have my own purpose for this'
And so she climbed on board with the words still lingering in her head
