A week since the incident in the alleyway had passed and Ash still couldn't understand what was happening to him. He was starting to think the alleyway and gym incidents were both connected somehow and although he was scared, if he were to be honest... he had to admit, being able to sense others was a useful ability. It saved him from being killed last week by those three thugs, plus Paul and his gang too

Walking towards his locker to get his necessary items for the day, Ash didn't see, hear or sense Gary coming up towards him, to engrossed by his thoughts to even notice. Due to this, as soon as Gary placed a hand on Ash's shoulder, the brown haired teen suddenly found himself pressed hard against the locker beside Ash's

Gary felt himself hit the lockers very hard and could also feel Ash grabbing one of his hands super strongly, and the other one pressing his back to hold him in place

A lot of students passing by could only stare on surprised at this, having never seen Ash react this way before as they stayed clear from the teen

"Whoa Ash, it's just me Gary!" he said as Ash loosened his grip surprised and slowly let go of his friend with shock

"Gary?! I-I didn't mean- I-I'm sorry!" he apologized and before Gary could even say another word, Ash ran off leaving behind lots of confused students roaming the halls

"What happened?" Dawn asked coming towards Gary with May at her side, who glanced at the way in which Ash had run off

"Nothing I think I just surprised him was all" Gary replied as he held onto the hand Ash had grabbed and was surprised to find out it still hurt "I guess he's been taking self-defense or something the last week... I wouldn't blame him if he did after that day in the alleyway... and man has he gotten stronger too"

"Alleyway? What alleyway?" May asked confused not knowing what had happened that faithful day... but it had to be bad for Ash to react that way

"I'll tell you about it later" Dawn sadly said as she hoped Ash would be alright

May didn't say a word, however she had to admit... something strange was going on with Ash and she had yet to figure it out! Heck he had finally accepted her as a friend, but he still didn't trust her or his friends too it seems, to tell them what was going on with him

Meanwhile Ash had ran into the janitor's closet after his apparent panic attack and wanted to be alone before he needed to head to class. He locked the door after heading inside and dropped to the ground with a sigh

"What's happening...? I don't understand" he said as he brought his hands up and then closed his eyes fighting back tears "All I wanted to do was protect Dawn and Gary that day, because of that something inside of me snapped and caused whatever is happening to me now... I mean if what happened in gym is also part of this, that must have been the wake-up call or something" he said as he used his arm to wipe away the few tears that escaped, but not yet opening his eyes

"But... what if whatever this is... will it hurt my friends and family? I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I hurt them in any way! I-I-I just can't tell them, none of them can ever know" he seriously said to himself, promising there and then to never let anyone close to him figure about these powers he now seemed to possess

Ash slowly opened his eyes, but as soon as he did, he took notice to the fact that his hands were now glowing a soft blue. He jerked back in surprise, almost hitting his head with the wall and waved his hands up and down to get the glow to leave, but nothing he did worked

"Alright calm down Ash... you can do this right? After all you control this, not the other way around" he said to himself and started to calm himself down. He watched in slight awe at how the glow responded to his thoughts and was slowly disappearing... of course something had to go wrong

"Hey, is someone in there!" screamed a voice from outside and that cause Ash to lose focus as he looked at his hands and saw a blue sphere appear between both hands "Whoa" was all he could say before again there was more knocking and screaming

"Open up this door!" the voice said, and Ash again lost focus and looked shocked as the sphere flew out of his hands, which he noticed were no longer glowing blue and saw the sphere make its way towards one of the shelves as it exploded upon impact

Ash being close to the explosion was thrown towards the door, which opened once he hit it and landed on the ground hard, oblivious to the audience outside

"That hurt" he said to himself and soon noticed a couple of students and teachers looking at him surprised "Um hello?" he said unsurely, as Paul, Trip and Drew were all laughing at him, making a few others join in while he slowly got off the ground

Principal Oak soon walked up towards the raven haired teen and looked at the mess inside the janitor's closet "What happened in there Ash?" he asked as everyone curiously looked towards the teenager in question

"And what caused that explosion?" asked the janitor angrily as he saw his neat clean closet all messed up and angrily took note of the fact that items were now broken

"Funny story that you won't believe" Ash nervously laughed, but stopped when he saw all the adults glaring at him, except Principal Oak "I can't tell you" he said, looking at his hands and made a mental note to be even more cautious while he was at school as well as while he was around others too, especially his friends and mother... Of course, he knew he would also receive punishment for this too...

"As punishment, you'll help clean up this mess and make sure everything is exactly as you found it" the principal said

And there it was! At least it wasn't detention!

"And also 1 week's detention" continued Oak as many students started to head towards their classes

'Spoke to soon' Ash bitterly thought but accepted the punishment none the less and left before he could have any more type of punishment for his actions... which he didn't mean to do!

Sighing as he entered his history classroom, he took a seat in the far corner and tuned out the lesson, no mood to learn about the revolution or whatever. His thoughts went back to all the incidents up to this moment, until his mind went back to what happened in the closet

Looking towards the window, he saw blue energy suddenly surrounded his hands, making the teen almost yell out in shock. Before anyone could even look at him, Ash shoved his hands into his jacket and hoped that either he could get this under control or if not that the glow wouldn't be seen

'This cannot get any worse!'

... Right?

Author's Note: Maybe I should give poor Ash a break. He's so scared about hurting those he cares about and still doesn't know what is happening to him... great now I feel bad for doing this to him :( Anyway we see Ash having trouble with his powers here, after all he still can't control them and as such cause him trouble here. Also no, May does not know (yet) about the accident in the alleyway and once she finds out, if she does that is, well... you just have to wait and see. Anyway as a sneak peak, the next chapter will be about Ash doing some research and also learning to accept what is happening to him
