Chapter 41

Francy's p.o.v

We met up with Ace in the restaurant. While each and every one of us had enjoyed their meal and chatted, he was sulking, tossing the spaghetti around.

Was he feeling down because Sole rejected him?

I looked up at Elric but he just shook his head so I don't ask in front of everyone. But I was still worried.

I pulled Elric's sleeve so he gets closer. Once he was within whispering distance, I spoke.

"What should I do? He seems disappointed?"

Elric took my hand in his. "Just ignore it. It's a pride thing. I'll talk to him later."

I sighed in agreement but that didn't make me feel better at all. I knew Elric and Ace had secrets they kept from me and I knew whatever was bothering Ace, he was going to feel more comfortable talking to Elric than me. Their bromance wasn't something I was part of, but I knew I didn't want to meddle even if I was curious. I just wished there was a milkshake I could buy to fix this.

I plumped Elric's pillow on the couch. When splitting the rooms, Ace and Kai decided to share one bedroom while Remi and I had the other. Elric insisted on taking the couch from the start so here I was trying to make it as comfortable as I could.

Another sigh escaped my lips.

I really didn't want them to leave. The morning was going to come soon enough and I didn't want to part.

I had to do better. Be better. No more slacking around. After today I will go even harder on making this house perfect so we can go home.

I loved everything about life here, but they say home is where the heart is and mine was going to be here only for one night then leaving in the morning.

Elric came down the stairs and sat down on the couch with an exhausted sigh, but a smile on his face. He had already showered, changed into his loose sleeping shorts and a white shirt. He turned off the lights and left the one in the kitchen so it's still visible.

I opened my mouth to ask him about Ace, but he shushed me.

"Everyone is asleep upstairs except Ace, but he's not far from it. The sun killed everyone today."

"Did you talk to him?"

He took my hand and tugged me down in his lap. "I did."

"And?" I asked, intrigued.

"Seems like Sole and he kissed."

"Nooo?" I gasped excitedly.

"I was shocked too. I mean a person would think he was rejected with that frown he carried all night, but it turns out that he made a move on her and she kissed him back."

Okay, that was great news but for a moment I was more excited that Elric was gossiping with me as excited as I was.

"This is huge. It never even went through my head that they would have chemistry."

Elric made a confused face. "Are you kidding me? They were eye-fucking each other since they met."

I raised my brow. "Sorry that I don't see the obviousness right away Mr. Expert."

He caressed my hair. " You just don't pay attention to anyone else, but me."

Well, he wasn't wrong there. He was half-naked the whole day and my mind was foggy.
