She must be on a snow mountain.

She looked at her surroundings. It was extremely desolate with a cold, biting wind. She brought a thin, portable down jacket, but although it can protect against the cold, it can't keep the cold out for too long.

She's only been here for a bit, yet her hands and feet were already trembling.

The freshmen who entered the space-time rift with her disappeared. They were all probably teleported to different locations.

The sky is bright. She glanced at the time. It was nine o'clock in the morning.

The school came up with such an exam question. Lin Xinghe guessed that they wanted to test their outdoor hiking ability first, just like with the freshman of the Ancient Era Department. Survive on the island—the first test was about outdoor survival skills.

Lin Xinghe rubbed her hands together and started moving.

She climbed up to a high point first in order to look for a way down the mountain.

Just as she climbed up to a high point, she suddenly heard the rumbling of a machine in the distance. She looked up and saw that it was a helicopter. Lin Xinghe didn't ponder on it and immediately grasped the broom and waved it vigorously.

The helicopter noticed Lin Xinghe and picked her up.

Besides the pilot, there was a little girl with her head bowed down onboard.

Once Lin Xinghe settled down, the pilot scolded her, "Didn't you see the notice at the bottom of the mountain saying that there would be extreme weather and to take caution going uphill? A snowstorm is coming and you still choose to hike up the mountain? Do young people nowadays not know how to cherish their lives? Wasting national rescue resources."

Lin Xinghe said very sincerely: "You're absolutely right. I'll never make such a stupid mistake again in the future. I will cherish my life and save the nation's resources!"

Lin Xinghe's good attitude eased the tension in the pilot's expression and his tone softened: "You're lucky. I got a mission to rescue someone on the mountain. If you didn't come across me, you would have froze to death or been buried under the snow when the snowstorm hit. This mountain is very evil. Sixteen people have died when they came here to explore the legends. If I came late or didn't see you, then you would have been the seventeenth."

When Lin Xinghe heard this, she focused up and asked: "What legend?"

The pilot's expression shifted and in a lowered voice, he said: "Don't ask so much and don't go anywhere you shouldn't be in the future." After that, he stopped speaking. When Lin Xinghe saw this she didn't ask any more questions.

She glanced at the little girl sitting next to her.

The girl looked to be only three or four years old. She was wrapped in a green military blanket and the exposed halves of her ears were pale from the lack of blood flow.

The pilot turned the helicopter around and left the snow mountain, saying that he had received a rescue mission and it was probably to rescue this little girl.

That's strange.

How did this little girl, who seemed to be no older than five years old, go up the mountain?

Lin Xinghe took a candy out of her backpack and offered it to the little girl beside her. She asked softly, "Little Sister, do you want to eat candy?"

The little girl finally raised her head, revealing a pair of round eyes.

Her face was entirely covered with some sort of filth. It was thick and dirty. She glanced at the candy in Lin Xinghe's palm, didn't say a word, and drew back again.
