Narrator's pov

-

"Move" Summer hissed, the students heading down the hallway all created a space to let the girl pass

Seeing her narrowed eyes, behind that icy stare was a mountain of pain, yet extracting it would bring pain and instability

Either it would let it out and her soul reborn, or she would lash out and it would be forever over

Afraid to be the person it would be unleashed on, they all pulled into the corner one by one to avoid a simple hairline touch of the girl's clothing

The girl dashed down the halls and turned the corner, it was just one week into the school's semester and she already couldn't take it

The meeting was tragic, just more bickering with Melanie that led to no where. So she got up and left before she slammed the girl's head into a wall or filled her mouth with chalk

Hey, I vote fill it with cu-
Custard pie. Yes. Creamy custard pie.

So to avoid the brown hair girl, she left the meeting and headed towards a place she hoped to find some peace

Her art classes weren't scheduled as yet but it wasn't going to stop her from hiding away in a place of silence

Besides, school was over

Why not hide away in the art room and fuck some expensive government sponsored paint

Luckily the lock was open, the girl slid into the room and closed it quietly

There wasn't a person in sight, Summer finally exhaled a breath she had been holding since leaving the meeting

She inhaled deeply, allowing her lungs to be filled with a new scenery, out of mind. A place where her mind could wonder free to be itself

The colours of our room spoke of ocean, wave-kissed land and rock blue. Yet they sang of movement of the water, its sound and aroma

It was the most creative, youthful place in the school. Allowing those to express themselves through their art in the walls in unique ways. A part of every student who passed through, hung on the walls

It was a safe space for the odd ones out. Those who were troubled inside as well as out. Those who needed a change, somewhere, somehow

They kept alive the kind of memories that kept Summer well anchored

Her fingers grazed over the art upon the gallery wall, watching as polaroids of emotion, the sort of communication that could take volumes of the written word to convey... and even then, not nearly so well

Finally, a smile was brought to her lips after a while. Watching the souls of creatives be spread across the walls

Art that spoke of mountains and freedom

Her fingers stopped at a blank canvas placed perfectly on a stand. Brushes soaked in a glass of water nearby while paint scattered around on the desk

The temptation of bringing the virgin canvas to life with just a few strokes

Oh. So that's how babies are born-

A slight creak of wood pulled Summer's attention away from the canvas and glance over to the door

"Oh for fuck sakes" Summer hissed

Melanie closed the door behind her as she entered into the classroom

"What are you doing here?" she asked

"I could ask you the same question" Summer hissed

"I don't need to answer to yo-"
