It's been a week since I became ready to express my feelings about Alex. I'm acting as normal as I can be, which is so hard.

I haven't seen Rachel since that night. I know they went out a couple nights ago, but he hasn't said a word about that to me.

I sit on the bar stool eating ice cream. Don't judge. You know you would be eating it too.

"Hey, I think I might go to the store today. Do you want to come?" Alex asks as he enters the kitchen.

Every ounce of me says yes, but I don't think that would be very appropriate.

"I think I'll sit this one out."

"Oh okay." He reaches his hand up to get a cup. My eyes follow it all the way. "Do you have any plans today?" he asks me.

"No. I might stream later." I almost ask him to join, but I don't know if I'll be able to talk to him that long without blurting my feelings out.

"With who?" He fills the cup with water.

"Dream and Sapnap. Maybe Karl and George too."

"The feral boys without me, basically?" He asks with a smile.

I love his smile.

"Basically. Do you want to join too?" Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

"Sure. Sounds fun." He crosses the kitchen to the countertop.

Remember when you pushed me against that counter and made out with me? I want to ask. Want to try that again?

Maybe I'll leave those thoughts in my head.

"Are you okay?" he asks, "You've been acting wacky ever since that date."

"What? I'm fine. Just tired." I try to keep the conversation to a minimum, so I don't spill my guts out.

"You sure?"

"Yeah. Of course."

"You sure this doesn't have to do with one particular twitch streamer?"

My heart starts to race. "What? No. Pft. Never." I say, "Why?"

"Ever since your date with Sapnap, you've been acting different. Do you, uh, have feelings for him?"

"Oh no no no. Definitely not." I release a breath of relief. I haven't screwed it up, yet.

I repeat my mantra for why he can't be with me. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel.

"Did he do something to you? Do I need to fly down their and kick his ass?"

"No. He was a perfect gentleman. We just.. We weren't on the same page," I was on the wrong streamer. "So there's just no feelings."

"If you say so."

And with that, he drops it.
