After what felt like an hour of running from Arry and Bert, we finally gave them the slip. But by then, it was much too dark to head back to the base. Fortunately, we had somehow ended up at Tidmouth Sheds, so we decided to spend the night there and head back in the morning.

Our drivers made a small bonfire in order to stay warm, and then parked us in the sheds. I still couldn't believe all of this was happening. I wanted to go home. I misses the times where things were magical and peaceful, and where I didn't have to worry about bloodthirsty diesels trying to kill me and my friends.

Henry asked me what the matter was, and I told him how I was feeling about the whole "chosen one" thing, and how I just wanted to find a way back to my realm. Henry didn't have an answer for that, but he assured me that everything would work out in the end.

BoCo then brought up something interesting: he said that he had heard through the grapevine about another set of magic buffers on the other side of the mainland... ones that Diesel 10 had absolutely no idea about. Now I was more confused than ever, seeing as how if Diesel 10 killed Lady, then he would've killed the magic railway as well. However, I was way too tired to ask any more questions, so instead, I went to sleep....

I woke up this morning and noticed BoCo and Henry in a nearby siding, looking very glum. Curious, I puffed onto the turntable and slowly approached them. That's when I noticed that Henry's driver was showing them a scrapbook, full of dozens upon dozens of pictures of James. Immediately, I knew why they looked so upset, so I tried to console them by saying that James was a good engine, and that his last moments of life were spent trying to save a fellow engine. And that seemed to cheer them both up.

After a while of resting, we finally decided to head back to the base. So our firemen started our fires, and BoCo's Driver started his engine, and we slowly set off for the base, as it started to rain...

Soon, it began to rain even more as we traveled down the line, and the once beautiful bright blue sky was now coated with dark grey clouds. For some reason, it made me feel a little uneasy, but I tried to shake it off. My driver strengthened my fire to keep me and himself warm, and that made me feel better.

Soon, we arrived at the base, but immediately I sensed that something was wrong. Smoke was billowing from the Sodor Resistance building, and everybody had seemingly vanished into thin air. I didn't know why, but as soon as we entered the area, we were greeted with a horrifying sight.....

The sight of Topham, battered and bruised on the ground and lying in a large pool of blood.
