Chapter Six: Caught in a love square

Grayson's POV

I make it home and just lay on my bed, I can't believe that's happened and I can't wrap my head around it I mean she confessed she liked me but then ran when Carlos came in I mean he didn't see anything right

I start to panic as the thought of almost coming out makes my heart race as I just ran 10 miles, I slowly start to steady my breathing before finally reaching a normal heart beat and collapsing on the bed

NiNi's POV

I sit on Kourney's bed as I talk to her about the almost kiss and kiss with Grayson, my mind is spinning and I don't know how I'm going to talk to her and what I'm going to do about E.J

"Kourt I don't know what to do" I say sadly as I look at my phone

"Do you wanna be with E.J" She says causing me to look at her

"Why would you ask me that" I say shocked

"Look girl, you are clearly not happy with E.J and Grayson is so fine so you know where my vote is plus the way you look at her shows your mind is elsewhere" Kourtney says causing me to sigh

"Yea but I can't just hurt E.J like that and I barely know Grayson....ugh but I like her a lot and she's a girl too" I say freaking out

"NiNi you can be whoever you want, plus E.J isn't all that and never has been so please do what makes you happy" Kourtney says causing me to nod

"What about Ricky......he's stills lurking around" I say and Kourtney looks at me like I'm stupid as she hangs up her clothes

"Ok ok I know you don't like Ricky and well I don't either but I don't want drama surrounding Grayson and I and he's persistent I mean he joined the play just to be near me" I say

"Well girl you gotta see if she's worth the risk or not because you know what is best for you" She says, I just nod and lay back

Grayson's POV  (The next day)

I walk into school  and take a deep breath before walking over to NiNi at her locker, I see her getting her books out and tap her shoulder lightly causing her to turn around

"Hey ummm can we talk...about yesterday" I say nervously, she sighs and closes her locker before facing towards me

"Yea because I have to be honest with you.......I wanna stay with E.J" she says causing my heart to break in my chest

"What....what about the spark you felt....our connection" I say desperately as I try to get her to understand

"I know and I felt it but......I wanna see if being with you is worth it so I'm giving E.J a chance to prove himself.....I do like you but I wanna see if being with you is worth the trouble that that will come" She says causing me to look at her confused and upset

"What is that supposed to mean and why would I matter.....we would be happy together" I say as I reach for her hand but she moves it but not before feeling a shock that surprises both of us

"I wanna be happy too.....that's why I'm doing it this way so that I don't feel overwhelmed...I hope you understand"She says and with that she walks away, I take a deep breath to calm down

I look over to see Ricky glaring at me, I roll my eyes and walk towards my class and I see E.J walking my direction with a glare too and then it hits me

These two are threatened by me, this is the drama she's talking about

I just bypass E.J and head to class, this is going to be a day

Time skip

Miss Jenn sent Ricky and I to look for NiNi and Ashlyn since they've been gone so long, I walk out before Ricky and we look around different classrooms and we make it to the lunch room

"You know.......your sister and you are pretty cool" Ricky says as we walk out of the lunch room

"Thanks" I say kinda dryly, I don't know why he's being so nice when he was glaring at me earlier

"Yea.....but what's not cool is you going after my girl" he says, yup that's it right there, I stop in my tracks and turn around to look at him as we make it to the auditorium

"She's not your girl, she's not even mine.....yet" I say firmly causing him to laugh

"You really think she's going to choose you over E.J and I, E.J is captain of the basketball team and a drama legend and I'm her childhood best friend who she still loves....your just the new kid" he says causing my smile to fall

"Well if she knew how arrogant you are she'd dead that whole childhood best friend shit" I say as he continues to smirk at me

I shake my head as I open the door and see NiNi and Ashlyn singing, I stop in my tracks and just marvel at NiNi's voice and her emotion but also the words she's singing don't match up with how she's feeling

I look over to see Ricky is mesmerized too, but soon they look over and see us causing them to stop

"Miss Jenn is looking for you guys" Ricky says as I stand there with my head down, I hear footsteps coming towards us but one stops and I look up to see Nini looking at me with so much confusion

"You sounded amazing" I say sadly, she smiles sadly and walks out but I just stand there as I feel a tear leave my eye

She won't ever be mine........

A/n damn ok well that was sad and something very relatable but anyway I finally updated this after not doing it for weeks and maybe a month of two but I did it finally
