Chapter Eight: Date no Date

Grayson's POV

I walk into school with my sister and she departs from me to her dance friends, I need to take my moms advice and I'm going to do that today and for the rest of time because I need to have confidence

I look up to see NiNi at her locker with Kourtney causing me to smile and I walk over to them

"Hey Kourtney...NiNi.....you figure out the phone situation" I ask as I try to muster the most confidence I can

"Hey Grayson ummm not yet but I will soon but I'm sure now that it's not your sister" She says

"Yea and when we do they gon wish they never stole her phone" Kourtney says causing me to smile, I look NiNi up and down and smile before leaning against the locker and adjust my letterman jacket

"NiNi ummm you wanna hang out after school.....get some ice cream" I say, I see a blush creep up on NiNi's face as I can tell I caught her off guard

"Umm sure but as friends right" She says and I laugh a bit to cover up the nervousness I'm feeling

"Yea....as friends" I say and she nods with a smile

"Great....meet me after school" I say and I wish them a goodbye before heading off to class, I smile nervously and walk into class

I walk I got he ice cream shop with NiNi as we joke around and laugh about a story I just told

"You can't be serious, you actually slipped off the roof" NiNi says laughing g causing me to roll my eyes playfully

"Whatever......it was funny after a while but it hurt like hell" I say laughing too, we walk over to the ice cream makers and put it in our cups, I watch as she makes hers and I see her mixing caramel and cheesecake

"Wait are you really mixing those together NiNi" I say as I finish mixing mine which is vanilla and strawberry

"Yes.....it's delicious" She says and I laugh as I walk over to her

"I need to try that" I say and she nods and we put our toppings on, I put Reece and some cookie dough bites and she puts cheesecake bites and chocolate chips on hers, we go and sit down at a table

"Ok let me try this because it looks good but I'm skeptical" I say and she laughs and takes her spoon and feeds me some, I taste it while look into her eyes and I smile before she removes the spoon from my mouth

"So...how is it" she says almost nervously

"Delicious" I say while looking at her, she smiles and I bite my lip nervously before digging into mine

We talk and joke around as we get to know each other before leaving, we get back to her house and we stand at her front door

"I had a great time Grayson" She says causing me to smile

"I did too" I say and we stand there awkwardly, I  look at her with an awkward smile before deciding....well fuck it

I pull her into a hug and I melt instantly, she hugs me back and we stay like that for a bit till we pull away and stare into each other's eyes

"Goodnight Grayson" She says

"Goodnight NiNi" I say

I detach from her and watch her walk into her house and I take a deep breath before walking back to my Uber

"Troy and Chad.....scene 45 let's go" Miss Jen says walking in

I sigh and get up as E.J dies the same, we face each other and we look like we hate each other but I don't hate him.....I just want who he has and that's NiNi

"Ok let's take it from the top and remember...theses two are best bros.......in this case brother and sister" Miss Jen says and I raise my eyebrow at her and she clears her throat and steps back

I look at E.J and he looks at me, trust me we are not best friends

"We had a meeting about how we haven't been acting like a team....Troy and the singing thing" E.J starts but I interrupt him

"I don't wanna talk about it" I say dismissively

"We just want you to know that we're gonna be there cheering for you" E.J says as he and the extras walk up to me but something in his tone is less than friendly

"Huh" I say surprised even though I'm not

"Win or lose, we're teammates.....even if you turn out to be the worst singer in the world " E.J says as he punches me in the shoulder, I raise my eye brow at him as he looks at me with a glare that he can't hold back

"And your not gonna hear me sing dudes....because Gabriella won't even talk to me and I don't know why" I say as I look form my script to E.J

"Ok....that was ok but it was a little stiff so let's loosen up, pass some energy back and forth like with the basketball and improves" Miss Jen says

"So just say whatever" E.J says

"Just Chad it up" Miss Jen says, E.J turns to me and I look at him with a bored look

"Troy your the best player we've got, we're so dang lucky" E.J says before passing me the ball, I catch it and laugh a bit but trust me nothings funny

"Wouldn't be anything without you" I say before passing it back to him

"No Troy don't be modest.....you seem to really be taking this....by storm" E.J says before passing it back aggressively but I catch it

"We'll I tend to be determined but you know how to do things right" I say before passing it back just as aggressively

"Thank you, your my best friend" E.J  says as he passes to me but it's more like a throw this time

"No problem buddy.....your sure know how to be in control" I say before passing it back to him the same way

"Yea it's almost like I know when to stop and when when to go" He says before throwing it to me, it's hits my chest a bit and I grit my teeth and put on a fake smile

"Yea but I know the same and that's what makes us a great team" I say and toss it back to him angrily

"Thanks man......you really know how to make a scene" He says and throws it but I mis calculate and it hits me in my face but mainly my eye

"Oh ok well that's over with....um Grayson let's get you some ice" Miss Jen says as she checks on me p, she leads me to the nurses office and I thank her as the nurse gives me some ice

E.J's lucky I'm not a fighter because he'd be 6ft under right now
