                                                     'What a fucking joke.'

Was all Lilac thought as she stood in front of the hospital room her sister was in, fists clenched to the point of drawing blood

Aera had overdosed on sleeping pills and almost died, she swore it wasn't intentional but there was no fooling Lilac, the girl that had been with Aera from the womb.

'It's all because of that bastard. I ought to-' She cut off her thought process as she remembered her sister's one request

Please don't hurt him. I don't want you getting blood on your hands, I'll be back and bouncing soon enough

Why is she so keen on protecting that man? The man that didn't even visit her after hearing of her being rushed to the hospital?

Sigh

Lilac slid down on the hospital floor, shakily running her left hand through her blonde hair, she leaned back on the door of her sister's room, placing her right hand on her chest to quell the beating

Seeing her sister lay lifelessly on the bathroom floor had really frightened her, and it all came crashing down in the short moment of peace she had gotten

"I ought to give her a firm scolding when she's discharged." She blinked back the tears that had somehow gathered in her beautiful eyes at the thought of the endless possibilities of what could have happened if she had been a moment too late

...

...

...

"To try to kill yourself over a man? You're a shame to us national rank false rankers." A red haired haired man tsked as he gazed upon the 'pathetic' form of the brown haired woman

"Not in the mood Kinsley, go back to Canada."

"Barely two words in and you al-"

"I swear on my sister's hair dye that if you don't shut the hell up your mother won't be the only one laying 6 feet under."

"That's dirty Aera." Kinsley tsked once more, not feeling all too bothered at the mention of his dead mother

"Get out."

"What was his name? Sung jinwoo? I heard he had a sister and a mother that miraculously w-"

His words got cut off by a vase whizzing by his had and smashing into pieces against the door behind him, raising up his right hand slowly, he touched the wound that had opened on his face, a light appearing on his hands and healing it, before smirking in amusement

"Wow~ you've gotten feisty. Do I like me a feisty woman~"

"Cut the bullshit, tell me why you're here and leave."

"There's a meeting for us in the NRFR."

National rank false rankers.

They are hunters whose strength could be measured above national rank hunters, they lead a normal life, only ever secretly helping when normal hunters can't handle the situation.

Nobody knows of their existence except for themselves.

The NRFR is the place they all gather to be assigned to the country they were meant to protect, more often than not they'd be assigned their birth countries. But sometimes there's a special situation.... Where their clairvoyant gets a vision and they all need to gather.

"Oh. I'm not coming. Lilith can tell me what goes on."

"He specifically asked for both the bridge sisters to show up."

"And he can go suck on a d-"

"I wonder how he'll feel if he knows this is what you're truly like."

"I don't give a damn about how he feels."

Kinsley's face got serious for a split second

"You truly are heartless, first you cruelly reject him now you ignore his call to gather?"

Aera didn't realize when he had gotten close to her hospital bed as he leaned in grabbing her chin

"No matter how strong you've gotten, you need to remember whose bitch you are. Don't grow shoes bigger than your feet and know your place."

No response.

The atmosphere had gotten tense.

"Aya~ no need to get so serious." Kinsley drawled dispersing the tense air, going to the window he got ready to leave "I do admit, you got a bit of confidence. But you aren't cut out for that role. Leave it to Lilith." He leaped off but not before sending her one more creepy smile

"𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂."

And the hospital room was back to the eery silence.

Aera sat with her head down, long hair covering her face before raising her shaky hand and running it through her hair.

He was right.

Until she grew stronger... strong enough to defeat him.

She'll have to learn her place.

"𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼?"
