Sung jinwoo and Aera collectively turned to the voice to see Cha Hae Rin sipping her soda, a look of curiosity on her face
"Are you being serious?" Aera asked in shock
"Yeah, i can't just find out your aunt slept with your crush without you telling me the full story." Hae Rin shrugged, she was just a tad bit curious about it, the real reason why she interrupted was because she was tired of watching them go back and forth
"Yeah, you can't just drop the bomb on us and not fill us in." Jin-ho chimed in, catching unto what the S rank hunter was trying to do
The brown haired girl looked at their faces as though wondering wether to tell them or not before finally shrugging "Oh, it wasn't that serious. It sounds worse than it was."
"It WAS that serious, your aunt was a pedophile." Sung jinwoo interrupted
"Yeah and your father was a-"
"Uhm, before you guys start again...can you finish the story?" Cha hae rin interrupted once more
"Well she got killed by my uncle after he found out, now i only have one aunt."
"I mean... i guess he was pretty mad about his wife sleeping with someone else, a minor at that." Jin-ho muttered, making a side note in his head to not interact with Aera anymore after this day
"Nah, his wife? That sick fuck killed his equally sick sister." Sung jinwoo laughed as though it was a funny situation
"Now why the fuck would you laugh at that?" Aera asked quietly
"I never knew you got to pick what i found-"
"Aeuh, ah." Aera interrupted him before he could finish
"What are you doing?"
"Don't mind me, i thought the fatherless kid was talking." She yawned, waving her hands in front of her face as though chasing away unwanted flies
"Aren't you an orphan though?" Sung jinwoo pointed out "An orphan with a sick family and a crazy ex boyfriend."
"Last i checked you were the only ex i had."
"I meant ex friend." The black haired man said in a way that showed he didn't mean that at all "like seriously, i should have dumped you the moment that weird ass started harassing me for dating you."
'Here we go again.' Jin-ho sighed internally deciding to do something about it
"Back to what you came here for. You said you wanted to join our guild, correct?"
"I thought we were over this. He said i could join." Aera replied
'Oh right.' Jin-ho thought, 'then what can i say...
"Then shouldn't you be on your way? It's getting pretty late miss, please come early tomorrow. We're going to get down to business." Jin-ho said a fake smile on his way as he hastily shooed the hazel eyed lady away
"Oh right, thanks. I'll be here tomorrow." Aera smiled her usual sweet smile except it didn't have much of an effect as they had already seen her true colours.

"So, how'd it go?" Nikolia asked
Aera ignored his question and plopped on her soft pink couch right in front of the projection of the man
"...i don't like repeating myself." He said softly sending chills down her spine
"It was a success." She finally mumbled
"And did you set across the image i told you to?"
"..."
"Aera."
"Yes. I did."
"Good job."
Nikolia had instructed her to act like a girl that irrationally chose to join a guild just to spite her ex, at first they were planning to go with her usual kind and soft act but destroying her image in the eyes of sung Jinwoo would make her be able to get close to him as a friend.
If she acted like she always did around him then being around her would simply bring back memories of their relationship, but if she showed him a different side that he'd never seen before it'll cause a feeling of betrayal as he'll believe the way she was around him while they were together was all an act
It'd also grow a different sense of trust as he fully believes she's now showing him the real her because they're no longer together, it'll be hard for him to attribute her to the old memories as her personality was completely different and it'd be easier for them to become friends.
Nikolia had instructed her to spite him, not to the point of hatred, but to the point where their friendship will be considered 'oh they hated each other but because of how much time they spent together they are now friends.'
True it could cause sung jinwoo to develop feelings for her because he's finally seeing the 'real' her but Nikolia had crossed out that possibility as it was fairly obvious that the S-ranker simply wasn't romantically interested in her as a person. It's a wonder he even dated her.
"I have a question." Aera whispered
"Shoot."
"You were the one that harassed him throughout the time we were dating right?" She asked

"Yeah." The brunette man answered
...
"Why?" Aera asked again, in the same quiet tone
"Because, haven't i told you? You belong to me. No matter how many guys you meet and how many you date I'll continue to chase them away till you get that through your skull."
"You don't even like me that way anymore." Aera's voice wavered "why can't you just leave me alone? The rejection happened years ago, why can't you just get over it?"
"..."
"You've always done this, every single guy i liked you always did something to chase them away. There was jin that you drugged with an aphrodisiac making him fall under my aunt's advances, there was Joseph that you stole my phone and sent him absolutely terrible texts making light of his trauma and telling him to end it all," Aera was on the verge of crying, her voice was shaky and her beautiful eyes were teary
"Why can't you just leave me alone? WE WERE KIDS. WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU?" She screamed at the unresponsive man projected on her huge screen panting from finally getting everything off her chest
"I really loved this one you know..." she whispered sadly
"...two things." His voice was unfazed from watching her breakdown in front of him "first of all...it's because you 'loved' him that i harassed him," he said, putting up air quotes as he said it in a way to disregard her feelings "second of all...

And with that he ended the call. Leaving the brunette girl to face the truth she had been trying to dodge.
A/n: Thanks for wishing me luck but I got rejected. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would because I actually expected it. I've been focusing on myself and my mental health now (also turns out one of his best friends knew all along which means he probably knew all along so it was pretty embarrassing.)
