Victors pov
"Well you are gonna have to give me your recipe one day, Benji" mom said with a slight smile
"I mean, usually that's top secret," Benji said "but for my boyfriend's mom, I'll make an exception" mom cleared her throat as Benji rubbed my arm
"I've had too much salsa. Um, I've got this, like, acid reflux thing, so..." she stood up "I'm gonna let you guys hang..."
"Ma. You had, like, one chip." I told her "why don't you just wait and see if it passes?"
"Victor, if I said I don't feel good, I don't feel good. Déjame, okay?" Isabel said, turning around to face victor "really, ma, Benji calls me his boyfriend, and all of a sudden you have acid reflux? Mom, I know what you're doing and it's not cool at all. I saw the food in the garbage can and it looked perfectly fine. Just because you don't like the fact that I'm gay doesn't mean you get to ruin this for us, Benji was so excited to finally get to be here and get to know you better and you do this?" I said
"Victor it is not like that at all" she said "yes it is! When Mia was around you had no problem at all. I'm dating Benji, mom. All I'm asking is that you don't ruin my relationship with the person I'm dating just because you want to be homophobic." I said "I am not homophobic, victor..do not put the label on me" she yelled pointing her finger at me "then say you support me, say you'll love me no matter what my sexuality is...tell benji that you accept him as my boyfriend." she paused "victor, I respect you..and Benji but I can't respect this decision you made. Just go out with...your friends and me, you, and Papi will talk about this tomorrow" she told me
"No, mom. There's nothing to talk about. Im gay and dating a boy, that's it...we've had this discussion so many times before. What are you not understanding?" I asked her "I don't understand why you would choose to live this sinful lifestyle" she said "do you really think I'd choose for my own mother to go around telling everyone that I'm a 'walking sin' do you really think that mom." I paused "You know what. I'm done living here. I don't think I can live in a house where I'm not supported" she stopped me "fine then, do live your sinful life with your boyfriend, enjoy yourself okay. Is that what you want" she yelled "yes...I wanna be happy. And here, I'm not. So, pilar I'll see you around at school" I hugged her "tell Adrian I love him and I'll see him soon" I told pilar as we let go of each other "goodbye, mom" I said grabbing Benji's hand and walking him and everyone else out the door

Benji and I sat down on the log after Felix had lit the fire and went off with Lake to go get the fireworks.
"I'm really sorry about what happened at home." I said, messing with the ring on Benji's finger, "it's okay, victor, it's not your fault that your mom can't accept you for who you are," he put his head on my shoulder. "You know, you're welcome to stay with me and my parents if you want" he said "I don't know, benji, I don't want to be a burden to you guys." I said "no, victor" he sat up and we turned to face each other "my parents have been begging me to ask you to move in with us because they know how hard it's been at home ever since you came out." he smiled "really?" I asked "yeah..they'll be more than happy to take you in." I smiled along with him "thank you so much, benji" he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him
"hey, break it up Romeo and Romeo" I heard lake's voice from behind me. Making me sit up straight "we got some fireworks"
Benji and lake got up and put them in place before lighting the string at the end. Lake made her way back to Felix and Benji came over to me. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder as he leaned into me.
The first firework went up into the air lighting the night sky red...
Benji smiled at me before our lips connected. I melted into the sweet kiss we shared...

After the fireworks had finished Benji and I walked hand in hand back to Lake's car.
"So...is your mom okay?'' Lake asked "probably not," I answered back "I'm really sorry that your mom is like this. You deserve to have all the support possible..and you know we'll always be here for you and you as well benji" I smiled "thank you"
"Aright, bye guys, well see you on Monday" Lake said waving at us "bye guys, thanks for the ride" benji said and I smiled at the two
-Benji's pov-
I held Victor's hand once again as we walked up to the front door.
"Hey benji," my mom hugged me "victor! It's so nice to see you again" she hugged him as well "can victor stay here for a while?" I asked "yes of course he can. Victor, we will be so glad to have you here," I smiled. "Thank you, Mrs. Campbell" I led him up to my room where we both lied down on my bed holding each other (like they did in the cabin *wink wonk*)
"Are you sure you're okay with me staying here? I don't wanna be a burden to anyone" I gently kissed the top of his head "no, baby, you're not a burden to anyone. Like my mom said we're happy to have you here" he smiled, making my heart warm. "I love you, Benji" he said smiling up at me "I love you so much more, victor" I leaned down to kiss him "that's impossible" he said into the kiss and I smiled rubbing his back gently...
