"I've missed you," Harvey said leaning against his dresser with his arms crossed, sort of watching Adalyn as she got redressed. "I like that you've been coming over often lately.""I know.." she murmured.
He turned around, picking up her phone and looking at the polaroid of Jack which was still in her case. "Who's this?" he asked.
"My like sort of boyfriend, who I'm mad at," she explained, running her finger through her hair, detangling it as she sat down on his bed. "Why?"
"I was just wondering.." he shrugged as he looked into the picture more, muttering something which she couldn't quite pick up on. "the mo.. What does his tattoo say?"
"the moon.."
"Why," a laugh escaped his mouth. "A Pokémon necklace and dumb tattoos.. geez you've downgraded."
"Harvey stop," she got up and went over to him. "It's not dumb."
"You think getting a tattoo that says the moon isn't dumb?" he furrowed.
"You're the one to speak," she rolled her eyes. "You have a lot of dumb tattoos. At least his actually has a meaning."
"Our matching tattoos have a meaning," he raised a brow as he ran his finger across her chin, lifting her head up and making her look at him.
"not anymore.." she looked away.
"What's his tattoo even mean then, seems you're so defensive of him," he cross his arms as he still kept ahold of her phone.
"He got it for his daughter.." she said as she made eye contact with him.
"He has a kid?!" he exclaimed as she nodded. "What so you're like a Stepmom now? Thought you didn't want a kid."
"I'm not a Stepmom. I'm not dating him, even then I don't want to be considered her Stepmom. Plus I haven't even met her," she lied. "And this situation is different."
"You haven't met his kid? Does he even care for it?" he said with a laugh.
"First of all Harvey. His daughter is a she and he loves her. I'm not with him twenty-four fucking seven, so if I haven't met her it doesn't mean he doesn't care for her or look after her."
"I thought you didn't like him, why are you defending him so much?"
"Can I have my phone," she held out her hand, avoiding his question as he shook his head. "Harvey give me my phone."
"Answer my question then I will."
"Because nothing gives you the right to talk about him the way you are. He's this, he's that.. You don't even know him Harvey. So stop saying shit about him."
"Fine," he said as he handed her phone. "Anyway.. come downstairs and hang out with the guys for a bit and then stay the night. Maybe we could go round two later.."
"whatever."
He grabbed Adalyn's hand, leading her downstairs to the living room. Making small talk with his friends as they took a seat on the lounge. She had turned to the side, putting her legs over his as she moved a little closer and he wrapped his arm around her.
"So are you two like back together now..?" Mitchell looked between the both of them.
"No," she shook her head. "I like hanging out with guys but I don't do boyfriends anymore."
"She has a boyfriend," Harvey responded, the other boys eyes widening slightly in shock.
"I don't have a boyfriend, it's more sort of friends with benefits," she rolled her eyes as she looked at him. "I don't trust guys after someone cheated on me."
"oh so I'm the problem," he looked at her. "Yet you're the one who's been here almost everyday for the past week.."
"And you weren't in my DMs everyday for almost a year wanting me back.." she raised a brow.
"Okayy" Dylan spoke up before the conversation between them two got out of hand as they both looked at him. "Why are you even seeing each other again if you're just going to fight."
"Sex, why else would I be here. It's the only thing he's useful for," Adalyn said in a 'duh' sort of tone. "And plus although my friends don't want me back with either of them, they would rather me say I'm back with him over Carter."
"Is that the guy you were with after me?" he asked as she nodded. He mumbled; "that didn't last very long."
"How long till you two stop seeing each other again?" Jaden questioned.
"Why, you want your friend back?" she looked at him as she took her legs off of him and sat on the lounge properly. "You can have him, he was being a dickhead upstairs anyway."
"You're just always trying to start a fight," Harvey snapped. "What's your fucking problem. You're the one who's making the choice to come here, why are you bitching about it?"
"I'm leaving," she mumbled as she stood up.
"You sure as hell like to avoid questions.." he said watching her as waked to the front door.
"my shoes are upstairs," she sighed as she turned around.
Harvey's eye followed her as she went upstairs then turning back to his friends. "This boyfriend of hers has changed her."
"hm yeah, she has a attitude now.."
"I mean the way you're acting probably very helpful.." Jaden mentioned.
"Yeah but her now is NOT the Adalyn I remember dating," he rolled his eyes.
"You know.." Adalyn stopped causing him to look back at her. "If I wasn't cheated on, I wouldn't have gotten with Carter and wouldn't have been treated like fucking shit. Then maybe I wouldn't have to be so cautious when it comes to guys. So blame yourself Harvey."
And with that she headed out their front door, not even bothering to hear his response. Getting in her car, she let out a sigh before starting her car.
