"Hey, are you going to that dinner tonight?" Valentina replied to her friends hello after answering the call. "You want me to pick you up on the way?""What dinner?"
"Jack, Jonah, all them. Just some friends having dinner, I don't know," she explained. "Did Jack not invited you..?"
"No, what the fuck?!" Adalyn exclaimed, pulling the phone away from her ear as she revived a message, setting the call on speaker phone. "Wait jokes, he just messaged me."
"What the fuck, he's goes.. I probably shouldn't be inviting you," she continued, reading out half the message to her friend.
"What have you don't this time?" Valentina said through a laugh.
"I don't know.." she said as the realisation from a couple days ago sunk in. "I need to go call him. um I'll talk later bye bye bye bye," she spam clicked the end call button before her friend could respond.
Calling Jack almost instantly, impatiently pacing back and forth as she waiting for him to answer. As the first call rung out, she called him once again.
"you just messaged me fucking answer," she groaned to herself as he accepted the call. "finally."
"Hey Adalyn.. what's up?"
"um what do you mean by you shouldn't be inviting me?" she picked at her lips.
"Because I just don't know how you're going to act," he explained as she let out a small, inaudible, sigh of relief. "Some of our other friends that you haven't met are going to be there, not just us guys.."
"Okay? And what do you mean by how I'm going to act?" she furrowed. "I'll just talk to Val the whole night, I don't care about your other friends."
"I just don't want you to say shit or start something with anyone."
"I won't," she rolled her eyes. "Where even is it?"
"Oh.. at your work.."
"ew, I hate going to eat there," she sighed. "I'm also surprised I didn't seem anything booked in for you guys."
"I don't know who's name it's under," he responded. "But of course, you don't have to come if you really don't want to."
She thought about it for a few seconds, then saying; "No, Lucas will be there so I'll come."
"Okay, I'll pick you up later? Around like six-ish?" he questioned.
"yeah okay."
Adalyn finished getting ready, receiving a text from Jack saying he had arrived only shortly later. She grabbed her things before heading out the door and downstairs.
Once getting down to the lobby, she talked with the security member for a couple minutes and then left the building and walking over to Jack's car.
"Well hello," he smiled at her. "finally.."
"Hey," she sort of smiled in response. "Sorry, I was talking to someone."
"Adalyn, I am begging that you don't do anything tonight," he said as he begun driving towards Tuscan's Grill. "Cause these people who don't know you are gonna ask why I'm even with you, I mean the boys already say it."
"That's great to know," she said sarcastically. "Anyway, who even are these people?"
"um Anthony and Eben, friends of ours, also do music. Daniel's girlfriend Franny and there's Corbyn's like girlfriend, I'm using that term lightly, Eva."
