It has been a month since Luz discovered the air glyph. In the meantime Luz had mastered the art of airbending, becoming an airbender master, thus obtaining her tattoos (once again, temporary tattoos, she doesn't know if or when she will go back home).

Now, Luz has decided that she wants to go and try to learn the rest of bending techniques, this idea was  supported by Eda, of course. What Eda wasn't aware of is that Luz hopes that she could discover new glyphs and that way, learn to bend all the elements.

Eda was not able to go with her though, and King was staying with Eda. So it's gonna be Luz alone for a while. Or at least that's what Luz thinks.

*Knock, knock, knock*
"Come in" Luz shouts.
The door swings open revealing an excited Eda holding something in her hands.
"What you got there?" Luz asks curiously.
"This is a little surprise for you, but we have to talk about something before I can give it to you"
"But, what is it?" Luz tries to reach it.
"Ah ah ah, first talk" Eda moves it away from Luz's reach.
"Alright, what do you wanna talk about?" Luz sighs.
"You have decided to go on a journey that probably leads you far from here, and I support you, but I want you to be careful and I'd like to be in touch with you, you know, in case the portal open up again while you're not here, so I brought you this" Eda says as she shows the object she was carrying with her. Well, it wasn't an object, rather an animal of some kind. It looks like a bat, but at the same time it looks a little like an otter.

"This little guy is a naturally Airbender master, one of the best along with the sky bisons. But thanks to their small size, they're easy to carry with you almost everywhere"
"Uh...that's cool, but how is it supposed to help me?" Luz says confused.
"Oh, right, that. As you know you will be flying in a sky bison, that young one you connected with the other day, but the bat-otter while flying alone without carrying anyone can reachs high speeds (thanks to airbender tricks) so we can send letters to each other in just a couple minutes, or hours if you're too far away, you know, just in case you want to."
"Oh Eda, of course I want to! I'm gonna miss you so much and sending letters to each other would make it a lot easier."

"And, another thing, ancient airbenders used to fly with a kind of sticks with wings, but sadly that tradition were lost long ago. But...thanks to our friend here we still can fly in a similar way because a bat-otter can grab a stick where you can sit and fly, in the extreme case you need it, given the fact it tires it a lot and usually it gets exhausted after doing this".
"That's so cool, thanks!"

And with that, Eda gives her the bat-otter (batter ?) and leaves.

Luz then goes to her room to prepare the things for the journey. She picks up some t-shirts, some hoodies and some shorts, along a suit, in case she need to go somewhere formal, who knows what awaits her.
She also gets a red bat, the one she went across the portal with. Her only home's memory along with her mobile, which it's not of much use since there is no coverage. She keeps it near always anyways.

Her bag was a small one due to the young age of her sky bison, Hércules. He isn't too big, he's somewhat higher than Luz, but not much, so better if he doesn't carry a lot.
Eda says he could carry four people, at most.

Once Luz is ready she heads outside, says her goodbyes, gets up on Hércules and flies away.

A few hours latter Bonesborough, the nearest city to the air temple she had been living in this last month, shows up.

They land on the outskirts. Luz leaves the Hércules in a cave and starts walking towards the city.

Suddenly she hears someone screaming.
'Someone's in trouble's Lux thoughts.
She runs to the source of the screams.

It turns out no one was in trouble. It was a teenager training, trying to control a small amount of water.

Luz watches her in awe, she hadn't seen anyone waterbend before. It was so...smooth.

Author note:

I want to know what do you think about Luz's flying bison's name? I was between Hector and Hércules, but I finally decided for Hercules, what do you think?
Also, I'm gonna start introducing more characters and the story is gonna become more interesting.

If you have any question or suggestions feel free to tell me.

Byeeee.
