Moments Beyond Us.

Emmets advice pt 2

Edwards POV:

After that whole lunch interaction it was hard for me to sit still in biology, with her so close to me and the thoughts of  our moment still bouncing around in my head. What also bothered me was Mike was sitting just behind us and honestly he seemed more annoyed at my presence than usual.

'What does she see in him, he's weird. Maybe she likes the money? Or maybe she's just into freaks- nah there must be a reason she's way to good for him'

I agreed with that- except the money part she had refused my persistence of paying for lunch today and every other day, Mike wasn't very observant.

"Mr, Cullen"
I looked up at the teacher, he looked annoyed-
"Active immunity-"
I answered  picking the answer from his head and he deflated before going back to what he had been previously talking about.

I glanced to Bella who was smiling-
She sat diagonally looking at the teacher but I could still see her amused expression.
This made me want to get out of here even more- we had a free period next, a teachers conference. We could drift away then. Make sure no one followed us-
That sounded awfully bad from an outside point of view but honestly my thoughts were clouded and all I wanted was those few moments-

The bell rang out through the room and I stood up a little to fast-
I glanced to Bella who was gathering her belongings- the sudden approach of Mike honestly made me drained just looking at him.

"Hey Bella, are you going to the party? Jessica said she asked you- just wanna make sure"
He asked his eyes unconsciously avoiding mine.

"Ah actually Mike I'm sorta busy right now I'll think about it"
She said with a small smile. She wasn't going to think about it.

'busy? With him?- ugh'
"Alright no problem just let me know"
He said in a overly friendly tone before heading off, I assumed if he didn't know about the free period because he would probably of stayed with Bella if he did.

I chuckled amused and Bella turned to look at me when she heard that
"What?"
She asked , I shook my head I'd tell her when I knew Mike wasn't trying to eavesdrop.

Once at her locker she bundled all her stuff inside, seeming tired.
"We have a free period-" I mentioned and she looked at me
"Oh really?" She seemed happy about that-
"I'll have to hide before Mike finds out about it- I'll never get away from him otherwise"
I grinned at that
"He's already on his way-"
Mike had heard it from somebody he was now frantically going against the crowd of people to find Bella, knowing he'd get to speak with her more with the lack of class.
I saw Bellas expression furrow
She groaned before closing her locker door.
"C'mon hide me-"
She started walking
I followed swiftly behind her-
"Where are we going to go, he seems determined" Mikes thoughts were frantic as he looked for Bella, I wouldn't blame him.
I chuckled as she started speed walking-
"I could always scare him off like before-" I suggested slightly teasing
Her cheeks flooded a bright red and I laughed aloud
"I'm only suggesting-" I said honestly before she nodded, and that made my skin tighten-
"I did promise a second time-" she reminded, she hoped that was a good excuse
I didn't honestly care who was watching anymore, the way she stepped back against the wall was inviting and I definitely followed, and like usual I draped my arms around her and she leaned into the touch-
"You were thinking about this in class." She stated a little too confidently and I nodded honestly.
"It's hard not to think about-" I whispered
"I agree with that-" she giggled
I could hear Mike, his thoughts were quite loud he was still searching- I tuned him out as I leaned forward to kiss Bella like I had before, it was gentle like last time.
She mumbled against it quietly before she too was  pressing forward with immense intensity and honestly if I was human I would of passed out- I could hear Mike vaguely though immediately I followed the kiss with matched enthusiasm -
Her lips were warm and soft.
She clung to me lightly.

Suddenly we were separated, the warmth of her lips gone and I immediately glanced at her- she seemed to be timidly looking to the end of the hall.
Ah of course, Mike.
He looked extremely annoyed but more shocked than anything.

"Do you need anything?" I asked unsure of how to break the silence.

He shook his head-
'What did I just see. Jessica said they weren't serious, she even said they hadn't kissed before-is Bella hiding this from us?'
His thoughts raced before he left the hallway returning to its empty state.

Bella moaned seemingly upset about something as she hid her expression in my chest.

"Bella?"
I asked quietly

She looked up at me her expression was hard to read.
"He's gonna tell Jessica."
She muttered

"Is that a bad thing?" I asked
She sighed
"I just don't want any attention drawn on us especially now, and I'm gonna get bombarded with questions from everyone and it's hard to avoid constant questions"
She rambled on
"And it's just embarrassing- this is supposed to be a private thing" she mumbled

I frowned, I understood some of her concern.
"I'll wait next time-" I whispered as I gently pecked her forehead

She chuckled at that-
"That will be a challenge for you"
She hummed, a grin present when I pulled back to look at her-
"Yeah yeah I know-" I said quietly with a smile of my own
