February
When we came back down my mom was being nicer, she didn't mean to upset Jules, but now that she knew she had, she was going to play nice.
We finished dinner and said our goodbyes, Jules complimented Mom's food and told her she had a lovely son, she was over the moon at both comments. I hugged everyone and told Lilly that I would be back tomorrow but if she was scared I'd leave again to just text me.
When we got to the hotel I asked her if she wanted her own room. I had reserved two but I hadn't paid yet so if she didn't want her room it was no big deal, I also didn't want her to have her room but I wanted her comfortable. She bounced her foot and looked out the window. I waited, I didn't wanna push her sometimes Jules was like a butterfly if you stood still she would land on you, but if you make sudden movements she'd run away. That was stupid, Jules is better than a butterfly, braver too.
"Okay." I look at her. Oh, shoot, I spaced out, I just keep looking at her hoping she'll clue me in.
"Okay?"
"Okay, let's share a room." I can't help it, a smile devours my face.
"But don't get any ideas," she points at me. "remember rule number 2."
"Yeah yeah, no sex, but that leaves everything but sex." I wiggle my eyebrows.
She looks panicked, oh no!
"Hey," I grab her hand, making small circles with my thumb. "It's okay, I was joking. Let's just see how tonight goes. Well, make it another date."
She looks down at her lap, "We've gotten really good at that."
"What?"
"Making staying in a date." Ouch.
"Okay, then it's not a date, what are you doing tomorrow?"
"Hmm. I think I'm busy." I happened to know for a fact she wasn't, but she played this game before so I decided to play it again.
"Okay, wasn't it about the day after?"
"Mhh, busy." She cracked a smile.
"How about any time before next week."
"Busy busy busy busy." I looked at her.
"Okay pumpkin."
"Is that going to be a thing now? Pumpkin?"
"I like it." she rolls her eyes and I laugh, "Alright then princess." I get out of the car and open her door for her. I then open the back seat door and start swinging bags onto my back.
"Princess?" She asks getting out. "HEY! Let me carry my bag!"
I dramatically bow, "No, I am your prince." I blow low and dramatically "and I am at your service princess." The bag falls off of my arm and lands on the ground.
Her eyebrows squint "Who are you?"
I toss my head back and laugh. "I'm your Romeo, your prince."
"Oh. I see. Well, Juliet wasn't a princess. You know that right?"
"I thought she was, but she married a prince right?" Her mouth drops open. "I'm guessing not?"
"Have you ever read the book 'Romeo and Juliet'?"
"Ehh. I saw the movie."
Her palm slams into her forehead. "That is NOT the same thing." I'm lying, I read the book. "Didn't we talk about classic books we've read? How are Romeo and Juliet not one of them?
