The Rebels

It feels like hours go by, as our intense stare down continues yet it's only mere seconds

"What do you truly need from me? Why shouldn't I tell the empire where you are and what happened here" I state pointedly

His simple glance, almost as if he knows something I don't.

"These people were long gone before I got here" the tone, of anger and guilt not hidden at all

"Why should I believe that? I don't know you, you could be lying to me."

"As you could be to me"

Silence suddenly became to loud and yet talking was to quiet and once again I found myself staring at the sky, still wondering what I should do and where my purpose is
I simply followed as the man as he seemingly wandered away

"What's your story?" He said almost lazily

"My story?"

"Everyone has one, some worse then others and some better"

"I guess I just decided to travel the world, even with all the destruction nature is still a beautiful place"

The simple stare from him did not give me any insight to his reaction to what I said
I suppose the road ahead will be long after all
2 weeks later

"So this is it?"

"Yes"

As I looked around I could feel the happiness within the atmosphere as if there was no civil war but only a world full of peace and joy, truly a remarkable feeling

And yet all I could feel on the road was emptiness
How peculiar
The ground doesn't crunch under my feet rather it makes not a sound I have to wonder why I followed

As the man walked in front of me I could almost picture where we were going yet I had not seen it myself as we continue walking I see the building I assume to be their main base of operations. The man suddenly stops and turns around looking at me.
" Don't try anything" he said in the same simple voice as he stalked away

An uneasy air followed after, I could tell I was being watched closely I simply walked to the man's left and looked at the building. It wasn't anything amazing, just a simple wooden building with an insignia carved right into the entrance, one I noted was very similar to that of the town I was just in.
