At NYADA
At Mid-Winter Critiques

The housemates arrive at NYADA for the Mid-Winter Critiques. "So, this is for marks, right?" Cooper asks Blaine, Jesse, Kurt, Jamey, and Sebastian. "Yes, it is." Jesse said while she sits down. "And we were lucky to do this." Blaine said to them. "I see." Cooper said to him as Madame Tibideaux walks over to her table. "What are we doing after this?" Sebastian asks them making the group think about it. "Maybe we can have a movie night." Quinn said to them giving them an idea. "Sounds like an idea." Jesse said to her while Blaine sees someone he thinks he remembers when they were all in school but he can't see the person from where he was sitting. "Okay, we will start the night with someone who hasn't been in school for months." Madame said to them making everyone clap while Jamey asks everyone at his table. "It's not Rachel is it?" Jamey said to them. "It can't be." Cooper said to him as the piano starts playing Broadway Baby from Follies making the group look over to see Rachel sits on top of the piano.

Rachel
I'm just a Broadway Baby

"I was wrong." Cooper said to them making Jamey give him a look.

Rachel
Walking off my tired feet
Pounding Forty Second Street
To be in a show, oh

Brody
Broadway Baby

Brody stands up making everyone at his table look at him.

Brody
Learnin' how to sing and dance

Brody walks to the front.

Brody
Waiting for that one big chance
To be in a show, oh

Jesse looks at Madame Tibideaux to see she was not happy.

Brody and Rachel
Gee, I'd like to be on some marquee
All twinkling lights
A spark to pierce the dark
From Batt'ry Park to Washington Heights

Brody takes Rachel's hand and helps her off the piano. "She does know it needs to be a solo, right?"Quinn asks her friends. "Maybe jail was making her think she can do whatever she wants." Blaine said to them.

Rachel
Some day maybe

Brody
All my dreams will be repaid

Rachel
Heck, I'd even play the maid

Brody and Rachel
To be in a show

Rachel
Hey, Mister producer

Rachel sings while walking over to the friends' table. Brody looks over at Rachel who was giving the friends a look before looking back at Brody.

Rachel
I'm talkin' to you, sir
I don't need a lot
Only what I got
Plus a tube of greasepaint and a follow spot

Brody
I'm a Broadway Baby

Rachel (Brody)
Broadway Baby
Slaving at the five and ten
(Oooo, Yeah)

Rachel and Brody walk over to Madame Tibideaux who was still not happy.

Blaine (and Brody)
(Dreaming of the great day when)
I'll be in a show
(Rachel: Oh, Oh, Oh)
Hey, hey

Rachel (Brody)
Oh, Broadway Baby
(Broadway Baby)

Brody and Rachel
Making rounds all afternoon
Eating at a greasy spoon
To save on my dough

At my tiny flat there's just my cat
A bed and a chair
Still I'll stick it till
I'm on a bill

Brody
All over Times Square

Rachel
All some day maybe

Brody and Rachel
If I stick it long enough
I may get to strut my stuff

Rachel
Working for a nice man

Brody
Like a Ziegfeld or a Weissman

Rachel
In a

Rachel jump back onto the piano.

Brody and Rachel
Great big Broadway show

The song ends and they receive warm applause from the audience besides the friends' table while Madame Tibideaux is unimpressed. "Excellent performance." Carmen said to them. "Or it would've been, had the assignment been a duet. Apparently, you both feel that you are above this class and all that governs it." Carmen said to them making the friends look at each other trying not to laugh. "No, not-not at all, Madame Tibideaux." Rachel said to her. "I'm flunking you, Ms. Berry. Next!" Carmen said to them leaving the two mortified. "Wait. It was a good performance, so I'm going to give you the opportunity to give me what I asked for originally. I want you to do it as a solo. Reschedule this week, it's fine." Carmen said to them. "Um, I'm sorry, Madame Tibideaux." Rachel said jumping off of the piano. "I'm just...I'm in the middle of tech rehearsals for my show right now..." Rachel said but Carman cut her off while Quinn looks at Rachel. "Ms. Berry, I've said everything I have to say to you. Either you do it this week, or you fail." Carman said to her. "Please get off my stage." Carman said to the two and the two walk away.

Before, another else goes on Quinn walks out to find Rachel. "Rachel a word." Quinn said to Rachel to look at her. "Good to see you again, Quentin." Rachel said to her while walking over to Quinn. "I am happy to see you, I was going to tell you that I don't need you to do Funny Girl now that I am back." Rachel said to her making Quinn laugh a little. "You think now that you are out you can just take things." Quinn said to her making Rachel nod a yes. "Well, I am here to tell you Rachel that Funny Girl show is mine and I will not let you have it." Quinn said to her with a smile and she walks away from Rachel. "I WILL HAVE MY PART BACK!" Rachel yelled at her making Quinn turn back to Rachel. "GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!" Quinn yelled back at her and he walks away.
