CHAPTER FOUR:
❝︎Rain Check❞︎

SHE WAITED PATIENTLY FOR HIM. Her hands were placed in her pants pockets and when she saw him making his way towards her, a smile graced her lips and she turned her head to look at him. Liam made his way down the side walk and towards the place in which the two agreed to meet at. As soon as he had spotted a girl awkwardly standing there, he knew almost instantly that it was Alaska. He couldn't help the wide smile that made it's way onto his lips.

"Hey," Alaska greeted.

"Hey." The two started walking.

"So, where to first?" Alaska hummed, pulling a hand out of her pocket in order to move her dark brown hair behind her ear. She couldn't help but to be glad that this boy that had spotted her in the hallway had decided to befriend her. He was a sweet boy, a dorky kid with a crooked smile that was so far the nicest person she's ever met. Which, he was the only one that's spoke to her, which she found quite odd actually.

"Well, we have the mall, the sheriff's station, where my friend Scott works, and uh. . . yeah." Liam nodded his head as he turned to look at her, offering her that smile that she found herself coming to adore already. They continued to walk as Alaska tried to think of where exactly it was that she wanted to go, and after a few moments she decided. She glanced up as a car went speeding by before she turned to look at Liam.

"I think I want to meet this Scott friend of yours." Alaska decided with a firm nod of her head. "I need to make more friends anyways since no one at the schools seems to want to talk to me." A huff fell from her lips. It really did bother her, a lot more than she'd truly like to admit. A lot of things were bothering her at the moment. Such as her barely remembering making her way to school―︎actually, she didn't remember making her way to school at all. Nor did she remember making her way to her and Liam's point. Her mind was blurry, as if she was walking in a dream almost. It made her head hurt.

Liam watched as her face distorted into one of discomfort as she brought a hand up to gently rub her temple. A frown fell on his face as he watched the girl, wondering what it was that was wrong, or if it was even his business to ask. But he couldn't help but to be concerned. Because that's the type of person that Liam was. Well, when his anger issues weren't getting the best of him he was that way. He wondered if she would still want to be friends with him if she knew about his anger issues. Which, he was getting better at controlling, but they were still there.

"Hey, you alright?" He pulled himself from his thoughts and nudged her side slightly.

"Hmm?" It took her a moment to register his question before she removed her hand slowly from her head and nodded. "Yeah, I'm alright. Just a headache forming, that's all." But she couldn't help but feel like that wasn't all that was wrong. That there was something happening in current time but she couldn't quite put her finger onto it as to what exactly that thing was. And by the look on Liam's face, she knew she had made him worried.

"If you're not feeling up to it, we can totally save this for a different day." Liam was quick to assure her. He stopped as did she and they turned to face one another. There was this look that crossed her face, one that he couldn't exactly decipher. She looked confused almost, as if she didn't where she was or how she had gotten there. He watched as her eyebrows furrowed and she turned her head back and forth as if she were trying to find where it was that she was at.

That dazed feeling took over her again, her ability to think straight leaving her as her head started to pound. She twisted her head slightly in discomfort, silently hoping that that would some how make her headache disappear. And then, it flashed before her eyes. It was just images, something that you would see if you were able to have visions. They were quick flashes, she could see the woods, blood, and silhouette leaning drunklike over her, and then that howl that she had heard before entered her ears. And suddenly, fear washed over her features.

Liam looked at the girl with a deep frown, watching as she snapped her head back and forth as if she had heard something or as if someone was looming over her shoulder. He could tell she was shaking, and her heart beat was racing wildly in her chest. He didn't have to strain his hearing to hear that. There was something bothering her, and that's why he found himself reaching out and gently placing a hand on her arm. She jumped away from him like he had electrocuted her. Her eyes were wide as she blinked several times, coming back to.

"Alaska, are you positive you're alright?" Liam asked her. "You look like you've seen a ghost." Oh, the irony in that statement.

Alaska blinked, looking at Liam and forcing herself to swallow thickly as she nodded her head. She couldn't tell him what she just witnessed. God, he would think she was crazy. If only she knew that the boy in front of her wasn't boy and was instead a werewolf. He was used to crazy. She shakily tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before tightly crossing her arms over her stomach as if she were trying to protect herself. "Can we take a rain check?"

"Of course." Liam nodded. "Do you want me to―︎" But before he could finish, she was walking away. He watched her leave with a small sigh before he turned and walked in the opposite direction that she had wondering what it was that he had just witnessed.
