Chapter Twenty-Six: New Friend?

Luna's Pov

I looked around with wide eyes, seeing many students walk by.

"Are you going to be okay Luna? Me and the others won't be able to see you around that much." Yugyeom explained, I frowned.

"Who will I be with?" I asked with a pout.

"By yourself...I know it's scary, but you can make a new friend. How does that sound?" Yugyeom tried to cheer me up, but I stayed quiet.

Yugyeom then sighed.

"I know we're different from others, but don't let that stop you, okay? You're one of a kind." Yugyeom smiled.

I smiled slightly and nodded in agreement.

"Okie." I gave him a toothy smile.

Yugyeom smiled back.

The bell suddenly rang.

"I'll take you to class." Yugyeom offered, I nodded and held his hand.
Yugyeom looked at my class schedule and led me to my class.

I followed as I saw other students walking to their class, already knowing where to go.

Yugyeom stopped by the front door of my class, he turned to me and kneeled to my height.

"I know this is scary, but it'll be okay. Just be yourself and make friends okay?" 

I nodded, Yugyeom smiled and gently patted my head.

"I'll see you later, if anything happens, find me." Yugyeom said.

He got up and waved before sprinting to his class.

I anxiously walked inside.

I stood at the front of the classroom as other students walked to their designated seats. 

The bell rang again as the teacher walked in. 

The students stood up. 

“Good morning class.” The teacher smiled.

“Good morning Mrs. Lee.” They greeted the teacher.

Mrs. Lee then turned to me. 

Are you a new student?” She asked, I nodded.

She then turned to her students. 

“We have a new student with us today.” She turned to me again. “Please introduce yourself to the whole class.”

I turned to the other students shyly.

“Hello...I’m Luna...please take care of me.” I bowed to them.

“Hello Luna.” The students greeted me.

“Take an empty seat from the right and I’ll hand you your supplies list for your parents to get for you.” Mrs. Lee said, I nodded and went to the empty seat. 

I sat down as Mrs. Lee handed me the supplies list.

“Now then, take out your papers, we’ll do a short vocabulary test as our first exercise.” She said as the other students took out a piece of paper. 

I took out my notebook and opened it for the vocabulary test.

Later

The bell had rung, other students got out of their seats and went to lunch with their friends. 

I packed my things silently and got out of my seat.

I walked out of the door and followed at a distance from other students to the cafeteria. 

I scanned the room before spotting an empty table. 

I walked towards it and sat down, I placed my backpack beside me and opened it.

I took out my lunchbox and set it on the table.

I opened it and began eating silently.

"Mind if I sit here?" 

I looked up, seeing a boy with black hair looking at him. 

"I don't mind.." I replied as I resumed eating my lunch.

"Thanks." The boy sat down in front of me and began to eat. 

I looked at him again, seeing he was a bit taller than me. 

Is he the same grade as me?

I continued to eat my food silently. 

After a while, I finished eating along with the boy.

"Ayo Soobin!" 

The boy turned his head, waving to the group of boys.

"Let's go." A boy called out to him, a lollipop stick sticking out of his mouth.

The boy named Soobin then turned back to me. 

"See ya." He waved and got off his seat.

I watched as he joined the group of boys, walking out of the cafeteria together.

Why did he sit with me?
