Ch3. Attack

It's been a day or two since the power was out. But not it's back on and now Greg, Steven and I went out on our stroll around town.

As Steven got his fry-bits he began to tell Greg about peridot and her equipment.

Suddenly a random small earthquake occurred which impacted all around us.

It made me fall back. "Woah! You kids alright?" Greg asked helping me and Steven up. "Yeah..uh dad is that a giant hand?" Steven pointed to a direction in the sky and it looked like a green hand.

-narrator's POV-
"Are the canons ready?" Pearl asked.

"What's going on!? What is that thing?" Greg asked running up to Pearl with Steven and Y/n.

Y/n looks at Steven with fear. "You think..it's-"
"Yes" Pearl answered worried.

"I wanna see" Steven said walking up to the telescope.

"Do it Steven" Pearl said instructing Steven to fire the canons.

As the canons fired to the ship, the ship easily Dodged it.

"No affect" garnet said.

"The town could be in danger" She added.

"Steven how about to ring the mayor." Y/n told Steven. He nodded and dialed the number.

After a while everyone in the town started leaving.

Steven and Y/n started talking on what they should do.

After a while Y/n's aunt drove to the temple.

"Y/n! Come on! Pearl called me! We've got to go!" She shouted.

Y/n saw luggages in the back of the car and saw her cousin as well.

Steven and Y/n turned and saw Greg as well packing Steven's stuff in a bag.

"Pearl?" Steven and Y/n said in unison.

"I'm sorry but you both can't stay here! It's far to dangerous!" Pearl exclaimed placing Steven's bag into the van.

"But!-"

"Y/n! Come on! I don't want you to get hurt!" Y/n aunt shouted.

Y/n glanced at Steven.

"But Pearl! I want to stay and help!" Steven shouted.

"Me too!" Y/n shouted. She glanced at her aunt giving her a look so she could convince her.

Y/n..think wisely! You haven't practiced your powers! Your shield only popped up a few times! You-

"I'm staying!" Y/n said. "Y/n.." her aunt sighed.

She glanced at Greg giving him an assuring look that Y/n would go with them if anything happens.

"Take care Y/n. Remember what you are capable of." Her aunt assured her and drove off.

"Capable of? What does that mean?" Steven asked Y/n.

Tell him! Tell him!

"I'm...not sure" y/n lied.

"Alright Steven! Get in the van! You too Y/n! I'm not sure why your aunt left you here! But you are not staying!" Pearl said with tears in her eyes.

"But!-"

"Steven..you are now I charge to protect the people. Your voice inspires us and them. So do what you do best. I'm talking to you too Y/n. You mean so much to us as well. Even though you aren't Rose's daughter. You will always be part of this family." Garnet said placing her hands on Steven's and Y/n's shoulder.

"We won't disappoint you" Steven said holding Y/n's hand. "I know" garnet said.

Greg, Steven, and Y/n got in the van and waved they're goodbyes and left.

"Maybe when peridot gets down on earth, she'll see how amazing it is and won't want to hurt anyone" Steven said looking outside the window.

"Just like your mother.." Greg said looking at the road.

"I wish the other gems were like Garnet..Pearl and Amethyst! But they aren't..I- I shouldn't be telling you this! The gems should! I don't want you thinking that they are like.." Greg cut off.

"Like what?" Y/n asked from the back.

Greg seemed nervous. "Dad! Like what?

"Like Aliens, Steven! Aliens who invaded earth!

"What!?" Steven said.

"Aliens? Why would we think that! Maybe they are just misunderstood! Maybe!—"

"Not all gems are like Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst, Y/n! Sadly they aren't. Everyone is different. They will fight..." Greg said trailing off.

"Then stop! We've gotta go back! To help them!" Steven shouted.

"No! I don't want you to be in danger! You too Y/n! You both are not going back!" Greg shouted with a worry in his voice knowing they will go back.

"Dad..I said Stop!—Gah!" With the forced Steven did it caused the Van to wobble and get off the road. They all screamed in fright.

As Greg was able to make the car stop.

Greg looked at Steven and Y/n "you kids okay!?"

"Dad I'm sorry! I didn't mean to cause this! I—"

"Steven! It's fine! I get it. You want to help. Just be careful alright? The both of you." Greg said and sighed.

They got out and the town people came to a stop and looked at the incident.

"Hey! You and your kids are alright?!" Fry Man asked.

"Y-yeah!..Alright..you take care." Greg said placing his hands on Steven and Y/n's shoulders.

"Don't worry! We will figure out some how to get back to beach city." Steven said.

Suddenly Lion appeared behind them.

As Greg went on with the towns people, Y/n and Steven headed back home.
