Ch20. Hiding

"What's wrong with her? Was it me? Did I do something!? I didn't mean do something wrong! I didn't want to hurt her feelings!" Spinel shouted at Nel.

"It wasn't you Spinel! She is just having flashbacks from before you two met! Just give her some space! I'm sure she'll be fine!"

"But what if she isn't! Maybe she needs comfort!" Steven said.

"This has happened multiple times! It's natural!..well not really—"

"Multiple times? She has been hiding all this pain?! Was it cause of her mother?" Spinel asked.

"Her mother? What about her mother? Is it her getting injected with a serum? What is it?" Steven asked.

Noise was heard in the kitchen.

The three of them peeked over and saw Y/n.

Spinel was about to go talk to her but Nel stopped her.

"You okay,Hon?" Nel asked rubbing Y/n's back.

Y/n just stared at the bowl she had in her hands.

"Y/n?—"

"What did mom really want to do with me?" Y/n asked still staring at the bowl.

"What?"

"Was She a gem? Or fully human. Or half and half?" Y/n added.

"Well she was...I don't remember." Nel said.

"Why are you asking?—"

"Why'd she use me? What did she want to do with me? Did she even want me?" Y/n said tears falling down her cheeks.

"Of course she did—"

"If she did then why aren't I with her!? If she really wanted me she would call and see how I was. If she really cared she'd come and visit. Not just try and kidnap me when I was 6! What kind of fucked up freak she is! Letting her boyfriend inject me with a serum not know if it'll kill me or not! I was barely even 3! I was like her experiment!" Y/n shouted.

Everything went silence.

"I'm sorry. I-..I just-..I'm going for a walk.." y/n said walking over to the door.

"Wait! Y/n!"

"Was all of what she said true?" Steven asked.

"Um..I don't know what to tell you. I wasn't there with her yet. I was handed to her when she was 5. She barely started school. But she then was homeschooled because of her Mother. Life has been..hard ever since she began getting the flashbacks randomly. I've tried and make her childhood a good one..but her mother and gem stuff has been getting in the way. I was happy when she finally met you. She felt at peace with you guys. And even better when she met spinel!" Nel said looking at the door.

"It's been hitting her hard now. Since she is already almost a young adult. She keeps overthinking. I try and give her the attention her mother wasn't able to give her." Nel added.

Spinel then went to the door and opened it "where are you going?" Steven asked

"Going to find Y/n." Spinel said not turning around.
